A magician's house is impossible to find. At least that is what Cass was beginning to think.

"Are you sure this is the right street?" she asked.

"How could I be sure? I've never been here before," Max-Ernest pointed out.

"Do you think it's the right street then?"

"Well, the sign said _____ Road," Max-Ernest continued. "And the address that real state lady gave us was on _____ Road. But maybe she guessed we weren't really grown-ups when we called, and she gave us the wrong street on purpose. Or maybe somebody put the wrong sign up. Or maybe there are two   _____ Roads. Or maybe the magician moved. Before he was dead, I mean. And for some reason, they still had his old address. And they were trying to sell the wrong house. But then I guess this would still be the right street for that house-"

"Forget it! Let's just go a little farther."

"How far is a lit-"

"Aargh! Why do I even bother talking to you?"

Cass was becoming very impatient with Max-Ernest's strictly logical way of thinking. He reminded her of the artificial intelligence program she had tried at school; he only gave you the answer you wanted if you asked the right way. The difference was you could turn off the artificial intelligence program. Turning off Max-Ernest was not an option.

They had been walking along winding street of the sort that creeps upward without you quite realizing it, and by now they were high up on a heavily wooded hill. They hadn't passed any houses for about forty minutes, and   none were visible ahead.

Even Sebastian seemed tired. Like most elderly bassets, he had a bad back, and it was a long trip for him. He kept barking in a way that sounded awful lot like the words "When are we going to get there?"

As they walked a little more, they saw something or someone to be exact. It was around their height, wearing a hood.

If you think so, it may look like death or more like the child of death. I mean, if that's even possible.

They saw it. They were scared.

They tried ignoring it. And they just passed through it.

Like it doesn't exist. Like they don't really see it.

"Where do you think you're going?" said a chilly voice.

Chills went down through their spines. They shivered. But then they came to realization.

The voice was from someone they knew. It's just a bit different.

But who? Whose voice?

There's no time to think. They must run! Right now!

Too bad their feet won't move. As if they were frozen in fear.

It was facing them now. Its face covered by the hood then...

Heads up. They saw its face. It revealed a smirking...

"Yuri?!" Cass exclaimed with mixed emotions.

"Why are you here?" Yuri said coolly, crossing here arms.

"Why are you here?" Cass questioned back.

"It's none of your business."

"Were you following us?" she asked.

"Excuse me?" she raised a brow, put a hand on her waist and shifted the weight of her body in one leg. "For your information, I came here first so it doesn't make any sense that I followed you. Coz' I.Came.Here.FIRST."
