She stopped running for a while to catch her breath. Placing her bruised palm on the bark of a tree, she looked back to see if they were still chasing her. But she could hardly see anything in this fog. The night was cold and dark and if not for the moons light, she wouldnt be able to make her way through the woods. She looked at her wounds mostly at the one on her left leg, the one that made her running difficult and painful. It wasnt getting any better.
She still had to move because if she stayed there any longer she would freeze to death. She really didnt have anything on her to protect her from the colds wrath, just a ripped apart, prison-like, dirty white jumpsuit.
It began to rain again and as she tried to reach for a raindrop, she suddenly heard loud barks then a gunshot which made her fidget. Without looking any more back, she began to run as fast as her injured legs could carry her, while her bare feet tried to cause friction with the wet muddy ground.
Dont let her escape! she heard one of the men shout.
A sudden mass of fear came upon her, drowning her weary soul as to what would happen if they caught her.
She picked up her pace and tried to get rid of the thought. Her eyes prickled with tears as the heartless branches of trees, that she wasnt able to dodge, slapped her face, abdomen and legs. More bruises and scratches painfully decorated her dark skin. But that didnt stop her from running. In fact the fear she had inside of her is what kept her moving.
Her vision began to get blurry due to the drugs they had implanted in her. But that didnt stop her either. Despite all the circumstances that were holding her down, she seemed to be making progress. The furtherer she went, the more the voice of the men and growls of the dog faded away. She kept running till she could hear them no more but she couldnt see what was up ahead as a result of the heavy fog.
Looking back and forth and back again one more time, she almost didnt see the cliff that lay in front of her. It was a dead end. She couldnt go back nor turn to the left or right, that is, if there was actually left and right. She didnt want to be captured but then again she didnt want to die. Panting out loud, she could hear her own heart beat so fast but that wasnt the only thing she was hearing. The voices of what she was running away from were getting loud.
Shes over there! she heard one of them say.
She looked back and could see the shrubs shaking then looked up ahead.
BAM! Another gunshot right at her left arm. She silently screamed as she held on to her bleeding arm. The black powder was already playing with her senses. She began to feel dizzy as the tinnitus in her ears became louder. Two steps backward three steps forward before she finally missed her step and arrghhhhhhh!!! she yelled as fell.
