Recently, Ao'nung became distant. He would always 'hang with his friends', go out with Tsireya, practice, etc etc. Neteyam let it slide for a week, but after a month of the cycling plans, Neteyam started doubting Ao'nung's loyalty.
"Nung-" "Oh, sorry baby I didn't notice you. Running late, remember? Gotta go I'll see you later!" Ao'nung snatched his keys from the counter and gave Neteyam a light peck on his cheeks, shutting the door behind him. Neteyam sighed, he missed the chance to talk to him, again. His shift was not until 5 PM. It was only 8 AM right now. 'Whatever. It's not like he makes time for me anymore anyway, what should I expect?' He thought.
"reya"
"hmm? What is it tey"
"wanna go out"
"a date?? 😱🤭"
"jk"
"sure"
"Lo'ak's at the studio and yuna's at school""okay"
"see you lunch? I'll pick u up""Okay! See you boo 😘"
"see u 2 boo 😘"
"Hey babe I'm going out with Tsireya"
*👍*'As expected, just a reaction.' At this point, Neteyam was the only one who was messaging. Ao'nung would either ghost him or just react to his message.
"Where the fuck is my bag?! Tomu'ya! Did you find it?" Tsireya said, calling out for her maid. "It's here ma'am, hold on!" Tsireya panicked at the honks of Neteyam's car outside of her estate. "Shit- shit shit give me that.. Thanks Tomu! Make sure to have Hemn pick Yuna up later okay? See you!" Tsireya replied to the panting maid, dashing out her door. "Ah! Sorry Tey, did I take long?"
"Hm? Oh not at all." Neteyam replied as Tsireya closed his car's door, greeting each other with a hug. "You look nice." "I know right? You look nice too, Tey. Where are we going?" Neteyam started driving again, away from the estate. "I honestly don't know, wanna get something from La'Teika?" "Sounds good."
"love"
"yes?"
"I'm going out with your brother"
"you're cheating on me?! 😥"
"we're just gonna get lunch."
"okay baby love you 😘😘"
"love you too"
"So.. what's up?" Tsireya said as the waiter left after taking their pay for the bill. Neteyam avoided the question. He knew, she knew. "Come on." The two walked to a nearby convenience store and bought some ice cream, then sitting on a bench "Teyam don't play with me, I know you too well. Is there something going on?" Tsireya placed her hand on top of Neteyam's resting arm with concerned eyes. Neteyam's gaze softened. "It's Ao'nung." "What happened?" "He's been.. distant." "Distant? How?" Tsireya moved closer to Neteyam. This just got interesting.
"These past few months.. he's been so busy. Busy like- he doesn't have time for me anymore but before, we had no plans at all. All he did was wait for me to come home and then we could cuddle together or whatever. He said he's going out with Pe'ja and the others, more practice yeah I know he has a game coming up but it's been months! He doesn't even kiss me goodnight anymore, let alone go out with me. I tried taking extra shifts to get my mind off him but when I get home I just go back to square one. I try talking to him but everytime he just says- 'Sorry maybe later. I'm busy.' it's just a lame excuse everytime." "Oh Teyam.." Tsireya gave Neteyam a hug from the side, rubbing his back. "It's alright, just tell me everything." "There's also been.. a great decrease." "A great decrease?" "In his account. 41 million from when he started ignoring me. I let his neglect slide for a week, I thought, 'he's just busy, don't overreact Teyam.' but after several weeks, those weeks turned into months. I don't know what to do anymore, Reya, especially when it's my birthday 2 weeks from now. I'm afraid he'll just ditch me again." "He won't, I'm sure he won't. My brother lives you way too much, maybe he's just doing something. I don't exactly know what's happening, but I know he'll never ditch you on your birthday. I just know he won't. It's completely normal for you to doubt, even after months. He's probably just been pressured with the sudden practice schedules being put up. Just call me when you need anything, Teyam. I'll be here for you, as your platonic lover, sister-in-law, and as your bestfriend."
Once Neteyam dropped Tsireya back at her place, he went home to change. "Uh.. keys! Keys keys.. where the hell are my keys? Oh- there they are." Neteyam reached for his car keys under the couch. "You alright?" Ao'nung seemed to have just got home. "Yep! Fine. Gotta go- see you later!" Ao'nung watched his lover slam the door as he ran outside to his car.
'Until you tell me your reason of neglect, It's time to treat you the same.'
Neteyam decided to take an extra shift today, which means he wouldn't come home until tomorrow.
"where are you?"
Neteyam was on break right now, but then he was suddenly called by one of his colleagues. So instead of viewing his notifications one by one, he just select the "mark all as read" option on his phone. "Finally done." Neteyam slouched on the driver's seat, he left his phone open so it died quickly.
"Where were you?" Ao'nung was sitting on the"I took an extra shift." "You've practically been gone for 21 hours and you didn't even tell me?" "Sorry, you ate yet?" "No, I waited for you. The food's still in the microwave. I'll prepare while you dress." "Alright."
"So you went out with Tsireya yesterday?" "Yeah, I didn't think you would notice." Ao'nung sighed. "What do you wanna do for your birthday?" "Work all day then hang out with family or friends the next day." "Nothing with me?" "Aren't you the one who's always busy? Just ditch me like you always do." Neteyam stood up and grabbed their empty plates, turning the faucet and starting to wash the dishes. "Baby it's your birthday, of course I would make time for you. I would never ditch you on your birthday." "Okay, then you plan." Ao'nung stood up from his chair and gave Neteyam a hug from the back.
"On your birthday, make sure you take the night shift the day before so you can get home bye 6 or 7. We're gonna take a nap and then lunch and then I'm gonna take you somewhere. Then the day after is when we're gonna spend time with friends and family, okay? I know you're too busy to plan so I had one of my mother's islands decorated as a venue for your party. Sound good?" "It sounds great Nung." Neteyam finished and wiped his hands on a cloth, turning to hug Ao'nung back. "I'm gonna take a nap before my next shift." Neteyam said as he yawned down the stairs, he was obviously going to the basement.
Actually the basement was practically his own room, a corner for archery, a corner for medical stuff, a corner for reading and studying a corner with bean bags and pillows, a place with weights, a treadmill and mats, a bar corner, gaming corner and even a projector. He shared the place with Ao'nung sometimes, I mean it was his, too. "You're not gonna change?" Ao'nung's voice echoed through the staircase as he heard Neteyam plop onto one of the large bean bags in the basement. "I'm good!"
