The red string of fate. Everyone has one. It appeares on your wrist at age 14, then doesn't disapear until you touch your soulmate. Belos has had his for many many years. And yet he still doesn't know who his soulamte is. Until one day, they joined his coven.

"Emperor Belos, I'd like you to meet Echo, a new coven guard. But Echo isn't a witch or a demon," Lillith introduced a white-haired person. They looked like you could answer the question 'what is your gender' with a yes. So Belos decided to go by they/them.
"What are they, then?" He asked, looking at them. Echo smiled with their teeth, revealing fangs, and bowed polietly.
"I'm actually a vampire. Rare, but not extinct or anything," They said. Belos' eyes widened. Vampires were powerful allies to have, being able to control the blood in someone's body. Belos stood up, and suddenly realized that the red string was still visible on his wrist. And it led directly to the vampire. Echo looked at the string on their own arm, and followed it to the emperor. Their eyes widened. Then everyone else caught on. The room erupeted in noise, until Belos lifted a hand and approached Echo. And the moment they touched hands, the string faded, replaced by the words 'soulmate found' over their heads. Echo covered their mouth.
"This can't be serious..." Echo said, blushing bright red. The words faded within a few moments. Belos stared at the person in front of him. After all these years, his soulmate had come right to him.
"Everyone exept Echo leave. Now," He shouted. Everyone hurried away, and the doors slammed shut behind Hunter, the last person to leave the throne room. Echo was tensed up. Figured.
"So... this is really akward for both of us, I presume," Belos said, crossing his arms. Echo nodded, relaxing a bit. They waved their tail behind them.
"Wait, I thought vampires didn't have tails," Belos blurted out. Echo looked back at the white fluffy tail. Then they grinned.
"And I think most don't, but I'm special. Of course, not like I've met many..." They sighed, their smile dispearing. Belosturned back towards the throne, then pulled his mask off.
"Woah," Echo took a step back as Belos turned towards them, now maskless. The empror grinned. It wasn't everyday he did this.
"I'd like to admit something. I'm a human, but cursed. The cursed let me live for over 400 years," Belos sighed. Echo's eyes were wide. They took a step towards the emperor.
"I- I'm sorry.. I didn't know..." They said. Belos stepped towards them until they were nose-to-nose. His ocean blue eyes stared into Echo's magenta-red eyes.
"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault, it's mine for letting myself be like this," Belos said. Echo could beel his warm breath on their face. Then he realized how close they were and backed up a bit, blushing. Echo snorted.
"So, uh... can I go now?" They asked. Belos nodded, but as Echo turned, their tail slapped him in the face. It was surprisingly fluffy, and he ran his hand over it before Echo went out of reach. But then they stopped, slapping both hands over their mouth.
"Echo?" Belos tilted his head at them. They slowly turned around, their face flushed red.
"Did... did you just... just touch my- my tail?" They asked shakily. Belos nodded. They dropped one hand down, the other fisted over their mouth.
"Is there a problem?" Belos asked. He was genuinely confused. Echo shook their head.
"No... it's just that... it's really sensitive..." Echo laughed akwardly. Belos understood suddenly, and they both blushed again.
"Uh... could I, with permission... like- touch it again?" Belos said. He'd never even met a vampire, and wanted to know all he could about them. Echo nodded reluctantly, walking back towards the emperor and turning their back on him. Their tail gently swished in front of him, and Belos streched out a hand to touch it. It really was soft and fluffy. Echo had both hands over their mouth again. They stilled their tail with obvious effort. Belos fluffed it with both hands, trying not to grab it too hard.
"... please don't pull at it-" Echo asked quietly. Belos narrowed his eyes, and roughly grabbed their tail. Then Echo did a noise as a mix of a whine and a moan. Belos froze as Echo pulled their tail close and stepped away from him. Their face was pure embarrasment.
"I- I'm gonna go now..." Echo stumbled backwards and fled. Belos was left standing there all alone, hands still feeling the fur. And after a moment his brain started braining again and he almost fell to the floor in shock, his face and ears red. Well, at least he knew who his soulamte was...
"And now I have to deal with all that's gonna happen when the news spreads," He sighed, putting his mask back on.
