She sobbed as she gulped down the soup, her hands trembling. This wasn't how she wanted to feel her sister.
"I'm sorry, Kanica. I'm sorry. I couldn't save you," Kritika sobbed as she continued staring at her sister and gulped another spoon of soup. "I did warn you to stay from it all but you didn't listen. You should have."
Kritika looked down at the bowl with her red-shot eyes. Finding the bowl now empty she headed towards the balcony. Letting her hair free from the clutches of her band and feeling the breeze of March. She could hear the mumbles from the room adjacent but ignored them.
She's been hearing them for the last two days now. Clutching the iron rod of the balcony tightly, upon hearing her doorbell ring, she forgot to breathe for a moment. Who could be at this hour?Taking a deep breath, she strolled toward the door of her apartment.
"Here's the order for Ms. Kanica Verma." the delivery boy reported. Giving a curt nod to him, Kritika took the parcel from him and slammed the door shut behind her.She stepped inside when the sight from a day back forced her to halt her steps. She couldn't take her eyes off of her now-dead sister, Kanica. Covered in the pool of her blood, her head tilted to the side, hands straight on the floor. Her eyes; missing. Her white clothing turned red on her chest. So near to the heart.
"You're my twin, sissy," she began as she stepped towards her, "but that never gave you the right to take what's mine. You shouldn't have done this."
She looked at the parcel in her hands and started reading it open, "let's see what you ordered." Kritika stopped once she tore apart the package. Taking out two customized unisex tank tops, she stared at them. Blankly. It had a picture of Kanica with a boy. Smiling brightly at each other, hugging and gazing with love. 'My boy. My Avi' she gritted through her teeth.Bitterness took over her sanity. Not delaying a second she strode toward the room, from where the mumbles were originating previously. Kritika slammed open the door, resulting in panicking of the voice holder.
"What the fuck is this?" she retorted as she threw the top to the person. "When did you two go out, Avi?"Avinash, Kritika's love interest, was tied up on a chair. His mouth was stuffed with a cloth not allowing him to utter.
"I told you not to involve yourself in this shit but you too didn't pay any heed to me." she barked, moving towards him.
Stroking his face with her finger gently, she continued, "You are my boyfriend. But you betrayed me. For my sister. What's in her that I lack, huh? See what you guys made me do."Avinash struggled in his chair, gaining the attention of Kritika again. She removed the cloth from his mouth.
"You're a psychopath. A fucking danger to this society. You killed your sister. You fucking psychopath. She loved me not petrified me like you do with this behavior." Avinash regretted every word as soon as they left his mouth, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please let me go. I beg of you." He cried for his life."Not you too, Avi. I loved you but you betrayed me." Kritika stated blankly. "Do you know how?"
Avinash gulped his tears as he shook his head in negative. His body getting goosebumps as he saw Kritika coming toward him.She stopped right behind him. "Like this." She stated, soon leaving Avinash's sight go black.
"Like," she went on as she stroke the rod on his head again, "this."Kritika came back to the front. Looking at the dead boy, she smiled. "Do you know something?" She sang in his ears, "you slut's eyes were damn good. So tasty." Striding off, she gave him one last look.
It was the next day when police reached the apartment upon getting complains from the neighbors about hearing a gunshot. Journalists and public soon gathered by. All the news channels going live,
'The police has found three dead bodies from the apartment. All young, around early twenties. The investigations are going on. Stay connected to-'Switching off the television, the person kept gazing at the black screen.
"Poor thing. Should have just delivered the parcel instead of spying inside." Kritika stated as she turned around, putting on her shades. Guiltless smirk plasterd on her face as she stepped out of her hotel room and jogged down, stopping a taxi.
"Airport, please."~~☆~~
