I felt the water swishing back and forth on my legs as I walked, I heard the relaxing sounds of waves thrashing against the rocks. I took in a deep breath before sitting down. I watched as the eclipse slowly came, and I couldn't help but get lost in the beauty of the world. In the distance, I saw the village. Almost 3 years ago I was banished from the Metkayina village, for something I didn't do. I'm only 15.
I should be running around with other kids, finding a future mate, but no instead I'm all alone fighting for my life every second. I stand up, letting out a deep sigh before calling an ilu. I had learned the ocean quite well over the past few years, I knew where to find the best medicines, the best fish, and the places to stay away from. I ask the ilu to go faster, making my hair blow in the wind, I closed my eyes, all my previous thoughts flying away, I~*Lo'ak Pov*~
I stared at the stars, lost in thought. I didn't know what to think of all this, the past few weeks we've had to adapt to new things, new ground, new creatures, new people, and the ocean. Of course, it was nice making new friends, like Tsireya and Rotxo. But I missed home. I grew angry, why did we have to leave, why did my father have to be such a coward? All my thoughts were thrown in the back of my head as I heard Tuk come and sit next to me. "Tuk what are you doing up?" "I had a bad dream." She said while looking at me. I notice the fresh tears on her face. I sighed before inviting her to sit on my lap. She happily jumped into my lap hugging me. "I want to go home Lo'ak." She said while looking at me and wiping her tears. "I know Tuk, I wanna go home too, but mom and dad want us to stay safe, so we have to be here a little longer." "I'm tired." She said while yawning. 'Let's get you to bed." I stood up and walked to our Marui. I was immediately met with the loud snores of my sister, Kiri. I slowly laid down, Tuk still cuddling me, her relaxed body signaling she was asleep. I took a deep breath deciding I should probably get some sleep, Tsireya said she was going to show everyone a new swimming area in the morning. I thought about how I would probably have to see Aonung's ugly pucker fish face tomorrow, hopefully, he's not such an asshole. I felt my body slowly relax before drifting to sleep.
