It was almost summer, and Alissa could not wait for school to be over.
Alissa yawned and sat up, rubbing her eyes and looking around the dark room in which she practically lived in. To some people, they would think her room was a mess, unorganized. But, to Alissa, it definitely wasn't. Her plain walls had been decorated in many posters of her favorite bands. Some of the posters had been there since she was in Middle School, silly little bands she barely even listened to. Her floor was mostly clean, a few piles of dirty clothing in the corner.
A loud knock on the door made her jump, causing her to stiffen up. She quickly relaxed, knowing it was just her mother, reminding her that she had to get up. Alissa slid out of bed and shuffled over to the pile of clothes, digging threw it and grabbing a crimson tank top, a denim vest, and a pair of black leggings. She changed out of her P.js, and walked over to the big dresser and sat down in the chair. Alissa looked up at the large mirror, letting out a sigh.Alissa was pale. As white as snow, her mother would say. She had very light, icy blue eyes and short shaggy black hair. It was now sticking up in weird places, which made her smile slightly. Grabbing a comb, she brushed out her hair and gave it a little shake before grabbing her makeup. She hadn't changed her makeup look since the eigth grade. Simple black winged eyeliner, long eyelashes, and a black lipstick. Perfect.
Grabbing her backpack from the end of her large bed, and her phone, she opened the door and walked out into the short hallway. The smell of burnt pancakes made her stick her tongue out, and letting out a small laugh. Her father had no idea how to cook, but he always tried to make her breakfast in the morning. Alissa walked down a couple stairs and turned the corner, stuffing her phone into her bag while walking into the kitchen. There was a white platter filled with dark, burnt pancakes drenched in syrup.
"Morning dad, pancakes today?" She asked, grabbing the plate and grabbing a fork from a nearby drawer.
"Chocolate chip, I think I may have added a bit too much. But, the more chocolate, the better, right?" He said, smiling and glancing over to her. Her dad was a very tall, rich looking man. He reminded her of Tony Stark. Short, black hair, and awesome goatee.
"Right." She agreed, kissing him on the cheek before cutting the pancakes up into smaller pieces and eating it. It was definitely burnt, but the syrup helped somewhat. After Alissa finished, she rinsed off her plate in the sink and grabbed the keys to her car off the counter. "Alright, see you after school dad. Tell mom that I hope she feels better." She mumbled, walking quickly towards the front door and leaving, giving her dad no chance to speak to her.
It was raining and dark when she got out, making her groan as she ran around the corner and made a dash for her car, which was parked on the side of the street. Alissa ran around to the other side of the car and opened the door, ducking down and sliding into the blue car. She shut the door and sighed, tossing her bag in the back seat. Sticking her keys into the correct hole and giving them a twist, she leaned back in her seat as the car came to life. Setting the car into drive, she stepped on the gas, driving down the road, towards the sunset.
