Warm Embrace

The sun has went down hours ago. The cold air nipping at your skin, it's not even winter, it's just very cold.
You sighed rising from your bed and stepping on the cold floor making you shiver.
At times like this you need something warm to drink....maybe coffee can help?

You opened the door, to see the dark hallway, eerily enough, the wind made it worse, god you sometimes hate the cold.
You took a step back in your room to snatch your blanket, and cover yourself up. Giggling to yourself as you look like a sort of caped crusader.

Waddling to the kitchen, you brewed yourself a new batch of coffee for the weather. Glancing back to the hallway seeing gone of the rooms still having their lights on, hm? Probably they can't sleep aswell, might aswell help them.

Getting another mug, you poured coffee in it as you began to walk over to the lit up room, which is where the engineer should be, was he working on something?

Not knowing how to make him alert of your presence, darn.
"Uhm, hey, engie?" You softly called out, which was followed with a few clanking, and a shuffling of fabric, and he opened the door.

He lifted his goggles to his head as he raised his brows
"Why are you up in the middle of the night darlin'?"
He asked with a hint of concern in his tone

"I couldn't sleep...it's cold" you lifted both mugs of coffee up to him, as the blanket dropped to the floor, aw no more comfort, from that you slightly frowned

He gave you a warm smile, picking up the fallen blanket and folding it on his arm.
"Why don't ya' come inside? It'll get even colder out there."
You nodded, as Engineer took one of the mugs and went inside.
You followed after him, and it was warm indeed, there are scattered blueprints and discarded parts all over the place

"Uh, sorry for the mess-" he rubbed the back of his neck
"No worries engie, you should see my bedroom,. It's alot messier." Both of you chuckled

At some point you were having a chat on his bed, telling little stories of the past to entertain yourselves, though due to the calming warmth of the room, your eyelids were getting pretty heavy.

You yawned as your tired eyes darted to the engineer
"Hey....can I sleep here for...a bit..."

The engineer hummed turning his head to you
"Sure thing, don't want to risk you getting-"
He paused, seeing you already asleep on his shoulder.
He sighed pulling you down to the bed, and engulfing your body in a hug

"WAAAAAKE UP MAGGOTS"
the sound of the Soldier's voice woke up the engineer and you.

Soldier burst through the door with a little trumpet in his hand, not sure what emotion he was showing but he's frowning

"GET UP YOU TWO, GO, GO, GO"
