It was not long after mr greedy was let go free from the giant when he started to feel hungry again.
He had three packets of cornflakes, two loaves of bread and one pot of jam, but mr greedys tummy was telling him that it was feeling peckish.
"What to have?". Thought mr greedy to himself.
"I know" , he said out loud.
"I shall make a gingerbread man".

And because he is mr greedy, he made an extra large gingerbread man, which he put in the oven.

While waiting for it to bake, he had a snack.
A chocolate biscuit.
Followed by two more chocolate biscuits.
In fact a whole packet of chocolate biscuits.
And as he finished the last biscuit, he heard a knocking sound.

It was coming from the oven.
"How odd", he thought to himself and he opened the oven door.
And to his great surprise, out jumped his gingerbread man who ran round the kitchen crying:
"Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!".

The gingerbread man ran out of the door and down the garden path.
Mr greedy gave chase, but the gingerbread man was right, mr greedy couldn't catch him, and the gingerbread was soon out of sight.

The gingerbread man ran up a hill and passed two children fetching a pale of water from a well.
"Run run as fast as you can: you can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!".
The two children gave chase, but...

The two tripped over and rolled all way down the hill.
Mr greedy ran upto the children, helped them up, and then carried on to chase the gingerbread man.

He ran past mr tickle, who was tickling the butcher.
"Run run as fast as you can! You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man!".
Mr tickle didn't care until he saw mr greedy running his way "how did you escape the giant?".
Mr greedy wondered "how did you know about that?".
Mr tickle tried to leap onto mr greedy, but mr greedy ran on to chase the gingerbread man
"I'll get you for running away!".

He ran past the green grocers, but Mrs ollif couldn't catch him
Nobody could catch the gingerbread man.
The teacher was too slow,

The farmer went the wrong way.
Even mr tickles arms were not long enough to catch the gingerbread man "not like I cared anyway".

" nobody can catch me". Boasted the gingerbread man, and he was so pleased with himself that he decided to lie down for a rest.
And then he fell asleep.
"Caught you!". Said a voice, a big pink handpicked up the gingerbread man.
"Slow and steady wins the race", continued mr greedy.

Mr greedy took a big bite of the gingerbread man.
"Oh dear" said mr greedy "now it's all gone!".
Mr tickle caught up to mr greedy
"I have one last job for you mr greedy".
Mr greedy gulped.
Mr tickle continued
"And if you don't get this one right, you'll be going into my freezer".
Mr greedy gasped
"But you can't do that!".
Mr tickle chuckled
"But it's not me who's killing you, it will be the freezer".
Mr tickle walked upto mr greedy and whispered to him his last job. Mr greedy gulped "to the fridge I go...".
