I thought I was dreaming...
The sensation of MC's lips pressed against mine was both electrifying and confusing. My heart should have been filled with joy, but my mind rebelled against the overwhelming emotions coursing through me.
"Shit..." MC whispered, his voice filled with turmoil. He abruptly stood up and bolted out of the room, leaving me sitting there, dazed and bewildered. I touched my lips, still tingling from the kiss, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
Hours passed, and I grew increasingly worried as I searched for MC throughout the day. The staff recognized me and offered their assistance.
"Have you seen my brother? The tall one with black hair and white streaks?" I asked, desperation lacing my voice.
One of the staff members shook their head. "I'm sorry, I haven't seen him. But I believe the guard might know his whereabouts."
Grateful for their suggestion, I thanked them and hurriedly made my way to find the guard. They informed me that MC had been seen heading to the food court, prompting me to rush there in hopes of finding him. However, he was nowhere to be found. Frustration and concern mounted within me, urging me to continue my search.
I scoured the pool area next, scanning the crowd with an anxious gaze. Still, there was no sign of MC. Determined, I decided to make my way to the beach, hoping that the calming ocean waves would somehow ease the tension within me.
As I approached the shoreline, I spotted MC sitting at the water's edge, his feet playfully dipping into the gently rolling waves. The sun began its descent, casting a warm golden glow over the beach, and my heart raced at the sight of him.
I removed my flip flops and slowly approached him. As soon as he noticed me, his body tensed, his guard rising instinctively.
"Draco, please understand that what I did was stupid," MC said, his voice filled with remorse.
I shook my head, determination in my eyes. "That's not what I'm trying to understand, MC. I want to know why."
He let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair. "Why? I don't know. I'm as confused as you are. I thought I felt guilty, but when I looked into your eyes, something inside me must have misunderstood, made me believe that you might have feelings for me too."
"What if it is true?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
MC's breath caught in his throat, his eyes widening with surprise. He cautiously inquired if my feelings had been coerced by the situation we found ourselves in, but I vehemently denied it.
"You're my brother," he said, his voice tinged with desperation.
My heart sank, a deep ache settling within me. "You're not even my real brother!"
Before I could process his reaction, pain exploded across my cheek. MC had slapped me, the sound echoing in the quiet beach. I winced, a mix of shock and hurt filling my eyes.
"I am your brother!" MC exclaimed, his voice laced with anger and pain. "Your feelings are nothing more than a whimsical crush, an infatuation that has developed after discovering our non-familial relation."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to make sense of the overwhelming surge of emotions. I mustered the strength to speak through the pain, my voice quivering.
"That's not true, MC. I really do think—"
MC interrupted me, his palm connecting with my cheek once more, this time even harder. The impact left me stunned, tears streaming down my face, mingling with the raw ache etched across my heart.
Without a backward glance, MC turned and began walking away, leaving me shattered and alone on the sandy shore. As he distanced himself from me, the ache in my chest intensified, tears flowing freely.
In that moment, as I sat there on the deserted beach, tears streaming down my face, a profound realization washed over me. It wasn't just admiration or infatuation that I felt for MC; it was love in its truest and in its purest form. Despite the pain, the rejection, and the complexities of our familial bond, I couldn't deny the depth of my emotions. My heart had spoken, and I understood that what I felt for MC wasn't mere admiration—it was an all-encompassing love that had taken root within me, unyielding and undeniable.
