Memory Loss

Mavis awoke with a groan as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Where

am I?" Mavis said out loud as she looked around, Mavis flinched and slightly

touched her head. "What happened?" Mavis asked out loud. "you are awake" he

said, Mavis turned her head to see a man in all black walking towards her with

a bucket of water. "Where am I?" Mavis asked he got on his knees in front of

her. "You fainted" he said "fainted?" she said with question he nodded. "Do you

remember anything from before?" He asked she shook her head she couldn't

remember anything only her name. "My name is Mavis... that is all I remember" she

said. He nodded, "why can't I remember anything?" Mavis asked "it's probably

because of your head injury... or maybe it's because something traumatic happened

to you before I found you" he said. "I... I can't remember" Mavis said sadly. He

gently touched her shoulder, "don't strain yourself. Your memory will come back

to you" he said .

                He took out a wet rag and drained it, "you should lay back down" he said. "Could I have

your name?" Mavis asked as she laid down as he said. "Um... it's Zeref" he said

hesitantly as he placed the cool rag on her head. "Ze..ref" she said slowly. "How

did you find me?" Mavis asked maybe then could help her remember. "I found you

sprawled in the middle of the road... I thought you were dead... but then I heard

your breathing" Zeref said. "Could you help me find my memory?" Mavis asked, he

looked at her with a sad smile. "I can't" he said "you wouldn't want to stay

with me long" he said. Mavis frowned "why not?" "I am a dangerous man" Zeref

said sadly. Mavis felt the need to comfort him, she reached over and touched

his hand. "You're not that dangerous if you saved me" Mavis said.

                Zeref stood to his feet "I was just there at the right time" he said. Mavis struggled

to stand "but I don't remember anything... I wouldn't know where to go" Mavis

said stumbling over to him. With quick speed he caught her from falling. "You

are better off by yourself than with me" Zeref said. Mavis looked up at him. "Well

that's mean" she said, Zeref looked down at her cute pouting face. "There is a

town just up ahead" Zeref said, "I can take you there... that is all I can do for

you" Zeref added. Mavis smiled "thank you Zeref" Mavis said. She leaned on him

not because she had the choice but because her legs felt heavy. It must have

took a lot out of her to walk. "What's wrong?" Zeref asked touched her

shoulders. "I can't move.. I'm sorry" Mavis said. Zeref picked her up, "I will

carry you then" Zeref said. Mavis's cheeks turned red. "Thank you... for helping

me" Mavis said. He turned his head so she wouldn't see him blushing. "I...it's

the least I could do" Zeref said.
