Alcohol.

Alcohol is a very powerful thing if you make it happen. It can separate you from you family and friends. Alcohol can change your life upside down. It can make a lot of consequences for possibly the future for the alcoholic.

That it what Confederacy got to witness, he decided to start drinking because his life didn't seem to have any meaning any more.

His house was a whole mess, yet after all of the pain he's endured, he always managed to sober up enough to water and plant his crops just for some small amounts of food.

The demon who surprisingly didn't want to leave, observed on how Dixie had changed in just the spam in a few days. He watched in horror on what he had done. He did a few favors for Dixie when he was usually passed out, like bringing him to bed and organizing his place a little.

Confederacy would always cry on the table, wishing for a alternate future where none of this happened. He would cry for days and days and refuse to leave his house.

In case your wondering, he does have money, he got it when Union would ask him to fill out some paperwork while he had to do something more important.

*flashback*

—————————————————————-

"Hey Dixie" asked Union with a bit of nervousness in his voice along with him scratching the back of his neck.

"Yes Union" asked Confederacy, he was a little bit worried on his nervousness's voice.

"Can you uh do some paperwork for me?" he kindly asked "the states want to go to a vacation and I need a break"

"Union, you've done so much for me" he said in a loving tone "it's the least I could do.

"I'll pay you if you want" Union offered.

"You don't need to, but sure" said Dixie.

*end of flashback*

—————————————————-

Confederacy bawled his eyes out on the floor, he thought that no one was there for him and there was no will to live.

He thought he could just die without anyone mourning for his death, no one could give a shit in his life.

Part of him still wanted to stay alive, part of him had a sliver of hope that someone in the town cared for his well being.

The town heard most of the commotion, you know the war and stuff. None of them expected him to turn into a completely different person in a span of a few days.

Confederacy, with a lot of hesitation, got up and dragged his feet to a near. He had a medium sized garden indoors so he watered it everyday.

The voices in his head can be really annoying and want it their way. Confederacy doesn't really see his surroundings anymore. He knows his house like the back of his hand. Therefore, he doesn't need to see anyway.

Since he became a alcoholic, he would pass out very often. Either way he would be passed out due to the alcohol or he would be passed out just because.

All of his hobbies diminished. Most of his hobbies would be for the sake of the states and to always make them happy. Now, with no more states, he no longer wanted to do any of those hobbies.

He was done, he no longer wanted to live on this world anymore.

One of these days he would think one of these days.

He would always have suicidal thoughts, just as any alcoholic would have. He would think of ending it all just because of the incident.

Union would check on him here if there to make sure he's not dead due to alcohol poisoning.

Almost every visit he would see Dixie passed out on his bed. If he wasn't there, he was hiding in the bathroom. Union would press his ear on the door to see if he was still alive and well. On rare occasions, he would be watering his plants to make sure they didn't die if he passed out with his alcohol.

Why? You may ask, Union still cared about him. Part of him still cared for Confederacy even tho he had attacked him.

Union didn't visit him as soon as possible. After the war, he and his states were mentally destroyed and didn't want to see his face ever again.

Eventually, Union and the states moved on to different things then what happened in the war. The states continued on with their own fights, and Union became a world power and had to worry about paperwork.

Little did they know, confederacy was going to attempt to commit a suicide, or at least try.

It's not like he's going to fail, right?
