Here is what I think the story should be like I remember watching BBC Merlin and I loved the original work I think it would be really cool for someone to not put up with what Luther was was the king doing before Arthur was King I think it would be really cool for this person to start taking the magical people and providing them a safe place the king eventually try to control this but he will not be able to because there will be a barrier the only way that Arthur and Merlin will be able to get into there will be because they sneak in somehow I don't know how they would do that I think that would be really cool for someone else play around with that I think the character would be kind of like Merlin but not so he would be very gifted at Magic but he wouldn't be a creature of the old religion but he would be able to use some form of old religion magic he would also be very creative in trying to create Magic and he will be very good at that I want this usually I describe the character and stuff usually I make them a gray character this person is just a person that knows right from wrong and he does not agree with what's happening also there will be something tragic his mother will get killed because she will say that she had magic to protect her son and her son gets off the hook barely and the person that executes his mother will be King Arthur but instead of going on a Path of Revenge like in the TV series Hale just build his own kingdom I think that he would help out Merlin in them in and out throughout the series love interest I'm going to leave that up to people that I think would be a really good setup for nimway to feel threatened by him and try to do the same thing she done to Merlin in season 1 also I think he will also have like unicorns in the Kingdom he will not be able to talk to dragons like Merlin so that will be a key difference and you know how Merlin and the last season was able to summon lightning his ability will be very different he's able to sign fire also I'm going to include what I think would be a good image of the castle for the kingdom
