"You win some, you lose some. Except for me. I always win." - Unknown

Adriana

The lecture hall sits in uncomfortable silence as Mr. Peters passes out our latest Physics test results. I watch as my classmates groan at their test scores. I can hearing the the whimpering of others. Pathetic Imbeciles. Mr. Peters reaches my desk and smiles placing my test results on my desk, "You never disappoint, do you?" I smile in return as he walks away scolding a guy named Chandler for failing three of his tests so far. Of course, I had gotten a perfect score once again. As expected. The bell rings signaling my lunch period. I walk down the halls and all eyes are glued on me as I sway my hips from side to side. I was not oblivious to my looks. I knew I was beautiful and I was aware of the power I possessed. Guys stared lustfully at me as girls stared with envy and some with lust as well. I walked into the cafeteria.

I filled my plate with steak, sushi, an apple, and a cupcake for desert. I walk my way over to the coffee machines to make myself a cup of coffee. I grab my hot cup and walk towards a table where only my friends and I sat. Everyone knew better than to sit at our seats.

I spot my two best friends, Xavier Yang and Ellie Astor. We've been friends since freshmen year. we met through our parents. Xavier is asian and his parents are one of the most outstanding lawyers in the country and as of now they own the largest law firm. His Dad is my dad's lawyer. Ellie is African American. Her mother's a doctor and her father owns the largest hospital in the country. My family only attends their hospital, dad insists on only the best for us. My Parents own a multi billion clothing brand as well as 15 hotels.

"Adriana, how'd you do on your physics test?" Xavier asks. I smile, "Perfect score." Ellie smirks, "Of course you did, Ms. Valedictorian."

"Adria, can you send the recent math answers?" Xavier asks. I pick up my phone and send the answers to the group chat. A group chat I had created in my freshmen year. The chat contained five members who were all exceptional in a variety of different subjects. The members being: Myself, Xavier, Ellie, and two other students named Vincent and Laura who I'm not particularly close with. However, I made acquaintances with them anyways. They're quite intelligent and I couldn't let such intelligence go to waste. The group chat was where we shared notes, assignment answers, and answers to quizzes. The chat provided all parties a win-win. Don't get me wrong I could still maintain my class rank without this group chat but why would I sweat it when I could play smart.

"So I heard there's going to be a new student in our grade tomorrow." Ellie states. I raise a brow. The student must be quite impressive just by how rigorous it is to enter the gates to this school. But senior year, seriously? What kind of fool transfers this late judging by how hard it'll be for them to fit in when everyone's already in their own cliques.

"I heard it's Zen Kim's mysterious daughter." Xavier chimes in. That definitely got my attention.

"Zen Kim? Like the legendary scientist and entrepreneur Zen Kim?" I ask. Now everyone knows who Zen Kim is. He's filthy rich. When I say rich I mean rich. The man's currently the richest in the world. He created his own space company named 'Explorer' at age 25. He designs and creates astonishing rockets and spaceships. Explorer has now partnered with NASA. He's also the CEO of the best electric car business in the entire globe which he named 'Electric.' I'm a huge fan of Zen Kim, if you couldn't already tell. Gosh, I would love to work alongside him and his team.

"Yes." Ellie replies and continues, "I hear his daughter is a total genius just like her father although there isn't much about her on the web. She's a total mystery."

"If she's truly a genius we need to recruit her as soon as possible." Insists Xavier. "We'll see." I say before taking a piece of steak into my mouth. This year might just get a whole lot more interesting.

Upon arriving home. My parents were no where to be seen. I walk into my bedroom, spotting a sticky note on my desk. I pick up the note.

Adriana sweetie we won't be home for a few weeks. Urgent business to attend. - Love, Mom and Dad.

I'm not surprised, I'm used to this kind of routine. I begin rummaging through my bag. I take out my notebooks and place them on my desk. Taking a seat on my chair, I open my laptop and begin writing my English essay. As much as I love studying, I despised English with every fiber of my being.

The time reads 10:00 PM when I finish my essay. I open a new tab on my computer and search 'Zen Kim's daughter.'

I couldn't find any pictures of her. Well except for two baby pictures but that was all. There were hardly any information about her. The only thing there is was information about her age. She's 17 and was born on September 20. So I'm older than her. I turned 18 on the 20th of August. The articles I read address her as VK. K obviously stood for Kim but the V was a mystery. I wonder...what could possibly be her first name. In my mind I begin to make guesses.

The following morning I wake up at six and got ready. I checked my phone as I got into my Electric Gen A-Z which was the latest electric car model created by Zen Kim and his team. It was currently 7:00 AM and it takes about 35 minutes to get to school. I start my car engine.

As I arrive to school and park my car in the spot specifically reserved for me. Now the other students didn't get this kind of treatment. Well, maybe except for Alexander. He's our star football player. Standing at 6 feet with blue eyes and blonde hair. Girls flaunted their selves at him. No self respect. Alexander's the it boy of our school. He's been trying to ask me out since freshmen year and I denied every single one of his confessions. He's good-looking I can't lie but the problem is he's empty headed.

As I make my way out of the car. Xavier and Ellie come to greet me. "Excited to greet your idol's daughter?" Ellie nudges me. I open my mouth to speak but was quickly cut off when I hear the roaring of a motorcycle.

The motorcycle halts outside of the school doors. A girl about six feet get's off it and takes off her helmet. Long Black hair falls out into view. Students surround the girl, taking out their phones. Cameras flashing at her. She turns around and I see her face. Perfect features sculpted by God themself. Beautiful Autumn eyes but there was this emptiness to them. I can't seem to place a finger on it. Like eyes that were soulless. Nonetheless beautiful. I can't seem to find a single flaw on her face. She's achingly beautiful. So ethereal. I despise her already.
