Chapter four

“Now, of all the places you could be in right now, you are at my feet.” mused Rhaenyra, rubbing her seventh moon long belly. Her silver hair was sprawled on the divan.

Her eldest child was busy rubbing her feet with a very oddly focused face, it was weird to see Aemma that focused doing something.“My,my, mother, you get a devoted daughter and all you do is complain about it.” mused Aemma back.

Aemma knew her mother was very uncomfortable. So she simply turned up to give her some comfort knowing her mother would never ask.

Rhaenyra rolled her eyes, snarky answers ran in the family. “Well, why aren’t you with the boys in the dragon pit?” questioned Rhaenyra. “Well mother, in case you forgot, I don’t have a dragon.” replied Aemma. The egg that was chosen for her hard decided not to hatch, leaving Aemma dragonless.

“I know you don’t, my love, but I promise that doesn’t make you less of a Targaryen.” said Rhaenyra with a soft look. Her daughter had the most beautiful looking egg. Rhaenyra chose it before she was born, It looked like a sunset, with orange and yellow shades clashing. And Rhaenyra knew for a fact that Aemma still slept with it.

Aemma noticed her mother’s face, she always felt like she failed Aemma on the dragon aspect. But Aemma knew it wasn’t true. She wouldn’t trade her mother for a thousand oranges, that's how much she loved her mother. “Don’t get sad mother, I’ll get a dragon one day. And the only reason I am not at the dragon pit right now is to avoid Ser Cole’s face.” said Aemma with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

“Did you do something?” assumed Rhaenyra with an amused expression. “I might’ve seen someone put dragon dung on his pie.” spoke Aemma. “Did you leave evidence behind? That is why you are hiding here right now?” questioned Rhaenyra with a raised eyebrow.

“The evidence is my face. You know how Jace says you can figure out what’s going on by my facial expressions, I know I will start laughing the moment I see his  face.” said Aemma.

“Yes I suppose your facial expressions are rather comedic.” spoke Rhaenyra with an amused expression. "Why do you attack him continuously, daughter?"
