I'd never given much thought to how I would come out. But coming out in the place of someone I love seems like a good gay to go.

No matter how hard I tried to avoid it, moving day came. I was moving from my beautiful gay-accepting town of Phoenix to Belly - a notoriously homophobic city in the middle of nowhere. This town also happened to be where my dad called home.

"Crom! It's time to go!" My mom yelled, she was packing her things into the car which made me feel uneasy. Mom wasn't big on traveling and the fact that she was now and that we'd be apart for so long made my gay senses start tingling. I guess I was visibly upset when I walked over to my mom.

"Tell me if you don't want to go, Crom. I'll stay home with you." She said, running her slithery fingers through my grease-filled hair.

"No, Mom, I want to go, I promise. It'll be good for me to see Dad." I said, she gave me a sympathetic smile in return.

We gathered in the car and set off to my dad's house.

A dreadful 35 hours later, I arrived at my father's estate. It was old and run-down. My dad stood at the front door, a small smile on his face. To be quite honest, I wasn't quite sure of my dad's real name, which is quite embarrassing for a 17-year-old girl like me. Regardless, he was a good dad. I used to spend two weeks at his house every summer but I guess I stopped once I got older.

"I cleared a shelf for you in the bathroom." He said as I walked inside.

"Oh right... one bathroom." I said, trying to sound as entitled as possible. I walked into my old room where there was a new bedspread and a dildo. I picked up the dildo.

"I hope you like purple, the woman at the store picked it out." He said, leaning against the door frame.

"Purple's nice," I said with a short smile.

We stood in silence for a moment before he excused himself. The best part about my nameless dad was that he didn't hover.

I stepped back into the thick Belly air.

My dad was talking to a balding old white man who was leaning against a black car that looked much older than my dad. There stood a scrawny little white guy with beady eyes. He seemed to be around my age and looked insanely familiar. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

"Crom, come over here!" My dad shouted, waving me over.

I stared at my dainty Ugg boots as I walked.

."You remember Gerg, Crom." My dad said and pointed to the man standing next to him.

I didn't but I smiled and nodded anyway. Then, without warning, he and my dad ran into the middle of the road and started fist-fighting.

The younger lad looked at me."I'm Justin." He said, an awkward smile on his face.

"You, me, and my brother used to make mud pies when we were little."

"Yeah, no, I remember." I smiled. I couldn't tell if I was lying at this point.

"You like the car?" He asked, looking past me. "I rebuilt the engine for you."

"This is mine?" I asked. To which he nodded. Cool. Another lump of shit from my dad I would just have to drive around like it was nothing. Me and Justin got into the car and he started explaining what he had done to it.

"You need a ride to school?" I asked. He looked startled.

"No, I'm homeschooled." He said somberly. I nodded and Justin stepped out of the car.

When I got to school, there were crowds of kids huddled together in the parking lot. I sighed and made my way to my first class. Someone from behind slumped a hand around my shoulder.

"You must be the new kid Dominic. Nice to meet you I'm Fred." The boy said.

I was only mildly uncomfortable but shrugged away from his touch regardless. I smiled politely at the short little guy. He had a goatee, buzzcut and looked like he had already been divorced at least once.

"Need someone to walk you to class? Lunch date? Shoulder to cry on, Dominic?" He asked, cheerier than appreciated.

"It's- I'm just Crom, and no, I'm fine." I said.

He nodded. "Okay, Crom. Catch you around?"

I gave him that same polite smile and walked to class. I had no friends here so I did end up sitting with Fred and some of his friends. I sat across from a boy with long hair named Hawksley - Fred's boyfriend. He had long hair and wore a concerning amount of V-Necks. Beside me was Anna Kendrick. She wrote the cup song but she wasn't in the mood to talk about it. She was a slut and visibly in love with Hawskley.

From the corner of my eye I noticed a group of people walk into the cafeteria. They walked in a single file line as if they were school children or were a large family with an absent father.

"Who are they?" I asked Anna.

She looked up from her plate of food and spoke with her mouth full.

"Them? They're that special family that lives just outside of town. Everyone knows about them but no one knows their last name. They're all Gerg and Zart's foster kids."

The first to walk in was Justin. He glanced over at my table but didn't seem to notice me.

"That's Justin." She explained. "He's super weird."

The second was a boy with a buzzcut down to the skull and a moustache built purely of pubes. "ZayJay. They call him the Keto God."

He held the hand of the third person to walk into the cafeteria. She was tall, taller than the other two boys. She had long, curly, black hair and wore a sparkly one-piece jumper that showed far too much cleavage for the school cafeteria. She looked a lot like Cher. In fact, she very much was Cher.

"That's Cher. I like her. She believes in life after love."

The final person to walk in doddled slowly behind them. He looked identical to Justin and he was the most breathtaking human being I had ever seen in my entire life.

"Who's that one?"

"He's Matt. Him and Justin are twins. The only way you can tell them apart is their beak to no-beam ratio." She explained.

"Listen, I wouldn't waste your time trying to talk to any of them. They all keep to themselves and will most likely give you aids." I nodded, knowing full well I'd talk to Matt any chance I got.
