Rachel gasped as she jolted up, pain coursing through her body as she did so. Rachel could feel her heart pumping violently as her eyes dashed to every corner of her room. Where were her kids? Why weren't they here? She could obviously see that she was in a hospital, but she didn't remember getting there.

Her brain started to piece together things that she didn't remember. The police must've come, she must've been taken to the hospital, Beatrice must be in jail, and her kids must've been...with family, possibly. Since she didn't remember, that must've meant she blacked out. That also meant that she had no clue if Elaine and Kennedy were okay. Rachel grabbed the cords and tubes that were connected to different parts of her body and ripped them off, causing a chorus of loud beeps to emit from the machines in the room.

Her legs wobbled slightly as she stood, her head spinning slightly from how quickly she stood, but it only took a couple of seconds for them to get their strength back. She ran out of her room, seeing a receptionist's desk with one man behind it, his name tag said his name was Gage. She quickly approached the desk, her chest heaving as she wondered if Beatrice had hurt either one of the girls. That would mean that Rachel landing in the hospital would all be for nothing. The receptionist, Gage, didn't seem to notice her or the sound of loud beeping coming from Rachel's room that should've signaled that something was wrong.

"Where are my kids?" Gage glanced up for a moment, before looking back down at his paperwork until he realized that girl that was speaking to him was a patient, he looked back up at her and immediately knew it was Rachel Lawrence. She had been all over the news and the downstairs receptionist's desk was always flooded with people asking about her. "M-My kids, Elaine and Kennedy, a-are they okay? Where are they?" Rachel asked, her voice wavering with worry.

"Why don't I take you back to your room and-" Rachel slammed her hand down on the wooden desk in front of her, she needed to know that they were at least okay. She'd go back to her room when she knew they were okay, and then she wanted to know where they were.

"Just tell me if they're alive!" Rachel sighed, putting her face in her hands, her brain was already telling her that if she were on her medicine then she wouldn't have acted this way."I-I'm sorry, I just have to know they're okay." Rachel saw Gage's face soften with sympathy, he thought that she knew they were okay but she didn't. She truly thought that something bad happened to them.

"They're okay, Elaine is with your Dad and Kennedy is with Miguel Diaz." Rachel's shoulders fell with relief, as another nurse appeared from down the hall.

"Rachel, we need to get you back to your room." The nurse said softly, taking Rachel's arm into her hand.

"I wanna see my kids, please." The nurse nodded, as she walked beside Rachel and took her back to her room.

"We can call your Dad and tell him you're awake and ask him to bring the kids to see you." Rachel nodded as she climbed back into her bed. The nurse started attaching the cords and tubes back into Rachel, as another nurse called Rachel's Dad. Rachel waited impatiently for her Dad to get to the hospital, glancing up at the clock every couple of minutes, the nurses tried their best to distract her but nothing worked. They gave Rachel plenty of food and drinks, apparently Rachel was malnourished but that didn't surprise her. With how many times she'd been locked in the basement, it was bound to happen.

"You've received so many cards and gifts from friends and fans-" Suddenly there was a knock at the door. A nurse was sort of filling Rachel in on everything she'd missed while she'd been passed out. She smiled at Rachel before she stood and walked to the door. Rachel quickly sat up straighter, hoping it was her Dad and not another stupid doctor. Luckily, Rachel's wish came true.

"Mommy!" Elaine squealed, as she climbed into Rachel's bed. Rachel had been told not to let anyone touch her ribs because she'd broken them and there could still be a piece of her rib floating around inside of her. If that piece punctured her lungs, then she could die, and if anyone touch her ribs it could cause the piece of bone to float closer to her lungs. Apparently, they'd told Elaine something of that sort as well, because she sat between Rachel's legs and didn't try to hug her. Rachel smiled at her and pressed a small kiss to Elaine's forehead. "Can Mommy see Kennedy?" Elaine asked, looking at Miguel who held Kennedy's car seat. Truly, Miguel was overjoyed to have Kennedy although he was kind of clueless when it came to the whole parenting thing, Rachel had a lot more practice than he did but the whole time he had Kennedy he couldn't stop thinking about Rachel. How she was laying in the hospital by herself because they weren't allowed to see her. It didn't help that Kennedy looked exactly like her and that looking at Kennedy could make Miguel cry.

"Y-Yeah, of course." He chuckled a bit, gulping down happy tears as he pulled Kennedy from her car seat. Rachel happily took her, a hug smile crawling onto her face as she held her.

"Thank you guys," Rachel looked at her Dad and then at Miguel, "for taking care of them." Rachel kissed Kennedy's head, she was more than glad that they were okay. Rachel could tell that her Dad hadn't slept and that he'd cried a lot and she would've hugged him if she could've.

"Mommy, Miguel almost gave Kennedy strawberries. He didn't believe me when I told him she was allergic." Miguel frowned, playfully glaring at Elaine.

"I told you not to tell her that." Elaine smiled.

"Carmen told him not to, just in case." Rachel smiled, looking at Kennedy.

"She's allergic because my mom was allergic to them," Rachel explained, as she ran her fingers through Kennedy's hair.

"Mommy! Did you know that Robby lives with Uncle Johnny now? I got to see him again, but I don't remember him, AND him and Miguel had a fight! With their hands!" Rachel's head shot up, her eyebrows furrowed as she looked between her Dad and Miguel.

"I...uhm..." Miguel looked at Johnny for help but Johnny just stared at Miguel. Johnny was the one who told them to just fight it out, but that was after neither of them would sit down and have a civil conversation.

"The two idiots wouldn't sit down and resolve their problems so I just told them to fight it out since that seemed like the only way they'd solve anything. It's all good now." Elaine nodded as Johnny spoke.

"It was really fun to watch, but not as fun as your's Mommy." Rachel smiled and rolled her eyes playfully. She knew that all of her troubles weren't over, at least not yet, but she could still live in this moment and believe all of her troubles were over for just a second.
