It was inevitable, Mr. Brown is a freak when it comes to organization. Of course after I make a complete and utter embarrassment out of myself, he would make me sit next to the brown eyed girl. Not only did I have very few friends, I was antisocial of a sorts. Even though, there was three other empty tables in the lab, Brown just had to make pairs.

'Neat freak' I thought to myself.

"Hi," What? I could at least be nice to her.

"Hi," her voice was small, just as small as it was when we first met.

"So," I drawled out. "I guess we're lab partners now."

She looked at me not saying anything. Catching her gaze I looked into her irises, she might not have wanted to say anything nevertheless, her eyes said so much. They were looking at me in a way I could only describe as curiosity. They told me she was broken, I didn't know how, but she was. She didn't show it on the outside, but she was broken.

She scooted away from me, only just enough for me to notice. I didn't know why, but I felt a pang against my chest. Deep in my stomach I felt queasy, and unsure.

"I guess so," something in her face changed, but only for a second. I couldn't decipher it.

The rest of class was spent doing the lab, and small talk. Deep down inside I felt disappointed, because she stopped talking to me. I guess I was going to have to get over it, I would never deserve a girl like that.
