Sorry, this one was REALLY late, I've been gone visiting family for a while so I didn't have time to post any updates. Just thought I'd let you know in case anyone happens to ever read this lol =P
The morning alarms initiate once again in the Aiken Private Girls Academy for the Mute, time seems to stand still for a moment, my eyes are wide open, my alarm had gone off but I was already awake, if it had been any other day in the two thousand one hundred and ninety days that this silent prison has been my home, it would seem quite demented for me to have stayed up all night but this is August 16th the day I leave this place for good, the day I graduate, the day I will be able to go home, and the day I will finally have accomplished something important.
I immediately sit up and jump out of bed, this day feels like no other day in my entire life, everything feels bright and full of life two things I never in a billion years could believe I would feel in this place. This is technically my official last day but yesterday was when I had my last classes so I have all day to prepare.
Everything must be absolutely perfect, my parents will be arriving this afternoon for the ceremony, I haven't seen them for months and I am really nervous, my older brothers and sisters have even flown in from various places, it's a little weird I don't know where most of them live now.
The last I've heard of them Declan II had temporarily moved to Beryllia all the way on the other side of the world along with his wife Tristen and my nieces, Gloria, Eliza, and I never was told the new baby's name, since Declan is the one that will inherit our parents business he is overseeing some work being done there.
Mirabella and Cilla, where chosen to appear in a movie somewhere in Franshire, Brant eloped about 3 weeks ago with a girl named Muriel and their still somewhere on their honeymoon I'm guessing, and then there's Gordon who I actually know about, since we're the closest in age I know him best so he writes to me a lot.
Last time I saw him was about a year ago, he was in military school but he wrote me a few weeks later saying that he left and he's been in Kyroyo ever since working as a butler for some rich woman I think her name was Ms. Otoroka, since he ran away our parents don't know where he's been but he said he'd still make it even if it means he'll have to face them.
I can't wait to see everyone again; my whole family hasn't gotten together for almost 4 years and it was just for fall equinox, it was fun though and that was around the time when I first became an aunt, I hope Declan and Tristen bring the kids with them I really want to see Gloria and meet Eliza and the baby.
My mind is spinning, so much is happening at once. I lunge to the bottom of my bed and open up the window to get some air. The sun is beaming down from overhead, there's not a cloud in the sky, and I suddenly feel a light breeze rush through my hair.
I take a deep breath and look down to the courtyard 5th year students are out on the lawn with baskets full of breakfast foods spread out on blankets, they look absolutely ecstatic reading and playing games, all grades get the day off for graduation and since people will be arriving for graduation soon they are trying to get the most out of this beautiful day as possible I guess.
I glance over at the clock sitting on the night table, it's already 6:03am, I've been sitting on my bed for about a half an hour just thinking, I feel so lazy. I jump up, run over to my desk, and with a swift swoop of my hand brush the little black planner that sits on my desk right of the side into the recycling bin.
I almost put on my slippers when I suddenly decide I feel like doing something different today, I open up the door and there is a special surprise for me, a beautiful eggshell tinted dress of light chiffon and silk material is hanging in place of my old uniform.
The hall floor is unfortunately not carpeted and quite cold so I scurry across meeting the usual guards at the door, I'm so happy I have a huge smile on my face, I wave eagerly and hold the beautiful new dress up in front of them, observing it they seem to get the message and they actually say something.
"So it looks like you'll be leaving pretty soon, I bet your excited?" The one on the right says and I nod. "Well we'll miss you; to be honest you're the only one that ever even smiles at us..." he looks down at my bare feet. "...you look cold, you should run along anyway before someone catches us talking, you're probably anxious to try on that new dress too huh?" The other one says and I nod again then I try to lip talk 'Thank You' making sure my mouth looks exactly as though I were saying it so they understand. "Your welcome" they both respond at once.
Walking into the locker room I realize how well that went, I could tell though how careful they were being and making every question something I could respond to by nodding and when I tried to say thank you they both made a special effort to let me know that they understood and that's why they both answered so quickly, Its wasn't that I minded, it was really sweet even, it's just that they reminded me of how people are always going to be when I leave here, like I'm different, except worse because out there being mute is much less common.
