Catboy sat on top of the old HQ, admiring the view of the city. His two best friends, Owlette and Gekko, were sitting on either side of him.

The city had an amazing view, especially when there were no night time villains causing trouble. Sometimes it was nice getting a little piece and quiet at night.

The lights were the most beautiful sight of all. They could see the colourful flashing lights on some of the buildings, mostly shops.

Owlette leaned against Catboy, making him suddenly feel warm and fuzzy inside. And that was when he heard a beeping sound.

His daytime self, Connor, slowly opened his eyes and looked around. He was lying in bed at home. "Oh, it was just a dream," he mumbled to himself as he stretched. "What time is it?"

Looking at the alarm clock on his bedside table, he yelped. It was already 7.30 in the morning. "Oh no I overslept! I'm gonna be late!" He shut off the alarm and jumped out of bed.

He quickly brushed his teeth and took a light shower. He dreaded water, but he could stand showering for a few minutes with warm water. Sitting chest deep in cold water was not for him.

As soon as he was done showering, he changed into his signature outfit - a white T-shirt, a dark blue jacket, long aqua pants and red shoes. He grabbed his backpack, stuffed a breakfast bun into his mouth, petted his PJ pet Cat - who was enjoying a bowl of cat treats - and dashed out of the house.

He couldn't shake off the feeling that he had forgotten something as he ran to school. "Nah, it's probably nothing," he said and shrugged it off.

Meanwhile, Amaya and Greg were waiting outside the school by the lunch tables. They had went to school by themselves because they couldn't wait for their other friend, otherwise they'd be late to class.

"Where is he?" asked Amaya as she paced back and forth. "Class is gonna start in 15 minutes!"

"Calm down," Greg reassured her. "He'll get here on time. Don't worry."

Amaya stopped pacing and smiled at him thankfully. "I sure hope so. It's not like him to be late to school."

"Hey guys I'm here!" they heard a familiar voice call them. They turn to look at Connor, who was running up to them as fast as he could.

"There you are! What took you so long?" Amaya folded her arms.

Connor scratched the back of his head. "I, uh, overslept. But I got here on time."

"And this is the first time I've seen you run this fast without your powers." Greg playfully nudged him on the shoulder.

Connor laughed. "I got here as quick as I could. I didn't even have enough time to do my hair!"

"Um, Connor? Did you even take your lunchbox with you?" asked Greg, worriedly gesturing towards his friend's empty left hand (Connor normally held his lunchbox while walking to and from school).

"I... didn't." Right, his lunchbox. Now Connor remembered that he forgot to bring it with him. He facepalmed. "How could I have forgotten that?"

"It's okay, maybe I can help!" Amaya immediately got out a paper bag with a sandwich inside and handed it to him. "I brought an extra sandwich by accident. You can eat it for lunch if you want."

Connor felt his cheeks turn rosy red. "Um, thanks." He took the paper bag from her.

Amaya blushed as well. "Of course! Any time." She cleared her throat. "We should probably get to class right now."

The trio headed into their classroom and took their places. Connor and Greg sat side by side in the front row while Amaya took the seat behind them.

"So what's the REAL reason you almost got to school late?" whispered Greg.
