Logs had woken up to the sound of his alarm, an annoying ringing sound coursing through his ears. He lifted himself up to a sitting position, rubbing his eyes then looking over at the window. The skies were bright hues of purples, blues, pinks, and yellows. He arose from his bed, walking to his closet as he took out one of his park uniforms, slipping from his room as he hung it upon the closet door of his bathroom, undressing to take a nice, quick shower.

Barney was usually a late sleeper, but was woken up by Patrick early.
"Barney! Mom made breakfast and wants you to come down!" Patrick exclaimed as Barney looked toward the doorway of his room, only the silhouette of his little brother appearing through his sleepy eyes. He sat up, rubbing his face and shaking his head as his hair had flattened, he poofed it back up, and got out from the covers, walking downstairs.

Logs slid on his uniform, drying his hair and combing through it as he looked in the mirror, proud of the bleaching job he'd done on his hair. He carefully brushed the little whiskers upon his upper lip downward with a comb as he walked downstairs. He was greeted by his mother, who had a big smile.
"Hello, sweetie! I've taken the weekend off this week, why not invite a friend over so I can meet them? You never tell me about your social life, for all I know you could have a girlfriend!" She got a little overexcited, as he could tell. He grinned a little at the first comment, ignoring the whole 'girlfriend' phrase, it gave him a sick feeling in his stomach.
"Right! Well, I'm gonna head to my job now.." He began to say, as he was cut off right then.
"Why don't you tell me about these things anymore? It's like you're always at that theme park or up in your room, I never see you anymore." Her emotion had switched from excitement to sorrow, a pouty frown extending across her lips.

He didn't know what to say, fidgeting with his hands as he sighed.
"I know." Was all that came from his lips, his mother looked at him blankly, turning around as she grabbed the container she'd packed his breakfast in, handing it to him.
"I've been trying to give you your space, but.. is there any way we can arrange a time that's our time?" She looked desperately for any positive response she could find on his face.
"Alright." He uttered, taking the container and shoving it in his satchel, walking out of the house.

Barney heard the screeching of tires outside his house, already finished getting ready he looks over at his mother, who smiles at him.
"Have fun with logs, okay? If you need me to come get you just tell me." She said, a motherly tone to her voice. Barney smiled back at his mom, standing up as he walked to her, kissing her on the cheek before opening the door.
"Bye, mom." He responded, walking to logs' car as he awkwardly waved to his boyfriend, approaching closer.

"Hey, babe!" Logs looked over at Barney when he opened the door, moving his bag from the passenger seat to the backseat. Barney had gotten used to Logs setting something in the passenger seat as if he was saving the seat for him, like someone would take it.
"Heyyyy, logs." Barney hopped into the car, closing the car door and taking off his satchel, to which he was greeted by his boyfriend when he felt him pinch his jaw and give him a quick kiss on the cheek. He smiled, leaning his head on Logs' shoulder as he began to drive.

"Hey, uh, how has home been lately? Norma told be things were a little rough." Logs chuckled slightly, eyes on the road.
"She did, did she.." Barney groaned, why did Norma have to share everything he said with his boyfriend..
"Look, we don't have to talk about it, I'm just.. worried." Logs took Barney's hand, rubbing it with his thumb as he used the other arm to steer. Barney got a bit worried about the way Logs was driving and let go with a sigh. His boyfriend returned the sigh, wondering if their relationship wasn't as close as he thought it was, before Barney began to speak again.
"It's just.. my parents were letting my Grammy gram say all this awful stuff to me, criticizing me for my looks, making homophobic comments about me being trans, and now they're trying to reconnect with her. She's the same way as she was before!" He exclaimed, though he didn't mean to.

Logs pulled into the parking lot of Phoenix parks, not saying anything until the car was in park. He looked down at Barney, taking his hands. "Babe, you're the most handsome boy I've ever laid my eyes on. Nobody can change that, you're not what she says you are, and you know that better than I do. Even if they reconnect with her, even if she's around more than you'd like her to be, nothing she says will ever be right." He kissed Barney's cheek, smiling at him. "And if your parents aren't gonna stand up for you, come live with me or Norma." Barney was taken aback by this comment, he thought logs' mom wanted him to be straight? How would they explain their relationship..
"But.. isn't your mom still making straight comments to you?" Barney asked, batting his eyes.
"Yeah, but, she does want me to bring a friend for her to meet, so maybe we could have dinner at my place tonight, sound good?"
