It was a dark and stormy night, and Sarah was all alone in her creaky old house. She had just settled in for the night when she heard a strange noise coming from downstairs. At first, she tried to convince herself it was just the wind, but the noise grew louder and more persistent.

With her heart racing, Sarah slowly made her way down the stairs, the floorboards creaking beneath her feet. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, the noise suddenly stopped. She looked around, but there was nothing out of place.

Just as she was about to head back upstairs, she felt a cold breath on the back of her neck. She spun around, but there was no one there. Suddenly, she felt something brush against her leg, and when she looked down, she saw a pair of glowing eyes staring back at her.

With a scream, Sarah bolted back up the stairs and locked herself in her bedroom. She tried to convince herself it was just her imagination, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching her.

As the night wore on, Sarah heard more strange noises and felt the cold breath on the back of her neck again. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore and decided to flee the house.

As she ran outside, she heard a voice whisper in her ear, "You can't escape me." She turned around, but there was no one there.

From that day on, Sarah never returned to her old house, and she never spoke of the terrifying experience again.
