The Side of the O'Brian's House...
Got anything, Roman asks through mind link.
Dean shakes his furry head before glancing up at Lucia's dark bay window. He can hear her soft breathing from down here.
All clear on this side, Dean announces.
Roman nods his black furred head and goes back to his place in front of the house.
Once Roman is gone, Dean starts to pace back and forth, thinking about what happened earlier today. He could feel Lucia staring at him as he fixed the roof. He wonders what she was doing and tried to find out, but for some reason, he couldn't read her mind. That's unusual but he tries not to dwell on it, thinking his mind control/reading abilities will get stronger once he gets used to this life.
There's a rustling in the bushes and Dean's ears perk up. A pair of glowing yellow eyes stare at him intently. He tries to mind link him but fails.
Intruder at 3:00, Dean informs the others and they're by his side in seconds.
The eyes move forward until a dark brown wolf steps into the spotlight that the moon's made. He's the first to turn back into a human. A portly man with a beard that stops at his chest and dark brown hair that slides past his shoulders. Diego does the same.
"Stay wolves," he orders Roman, Dean, and Seth.
That's when two others appear on either side of the man. One is a reddish brown while the other is black except slightly lighter than Roman. They growl.
"Down boys," the man says gently his voice raspy and lazy-like. He turns to Diego and smiles. "Diego."
"Bray," Diego growls.
Everyone stops when they hear Lucia yawning and shifting. She's silent again.
"Well, well, well," Bray says. "Who's up there?"
"None of your business," Diego snaps, a growl forming deep in his chest. His wolf was trying to break free. "What are you doing here?"
Bray glances back up at the bay window, smirking. That's when a growl erupts from Dean unexpectedly. He doesn't know why but a possessive wave creeps over him and wouldn't let up.
Bray grinned at him. "She sounds like a beautiful creature," he whispers. "Very beautiful."
"Why are you here, Bray?" Diego questions, losing patience.
"I just wanted to formally introduce myself," he replies. "Since you're the only pack that hasn't met the new Alpha," he strokes his beard, "I thought I'd come over and say hi."
His laugh is creepy and sadistic. It sends uneasy shivers down Dean's spine, the hair on his back standing at attention.
"These," he gestures between the two wolves flanking him, "are my brothers. Luke," he points to the black one, "and Erik." The reddish brown one. Diego just nods, not bothering to introduce his group. "And if you miss us, don't worry...we'll be back."
He turns back into his wolf form and slowly backtracks back into the woods, his eyes being the only visible thing before they, too, disappear with him.
