Holding Out for a Hero

Chapter 1

"Sawyer ! Get your ass out of the car, so we can get our mountain of stuff into our apartment, its gonna take us all night if you dont hurry up." said Salem

Our moms had us on the same day and they met when the nurses accidentally brought Salem to my mom and me to hers. They didnt mean too but our names are so similar and we were right next to each other in the nursery. Our parents didnt find it very funny but our parents got best friends out of it. Salem and I look nothing alike though, She is a natural bleach blonde with crystal clear blue eyes and tiny frame with no curves at all. As for me on the other hand, I'm a natural deep brunette with bright green eyes and a curvy but slim body. Even though we look nothing alike, Salem and I have the same attitudes, but our interests in a lot of things are very different.

We decided that when we were old enough to be on our own in college, we would get our own apartment instead of dorms, so thats exactly what we did.

"Salem, Chill out ! Im just trying to find my phone, i dropped it when i was about to get out of the car i think." I said hoping she would hear me

"Sawyer, babe, its in your ass pocket, now can you help me get some of these boxes inside ?"

My hand instantly felt my back pocket where she said it was and felt myself relax, my phone is like crack to an addict, i cant live without it and i freak out when i dont know where it is.

"Thanks, i almost had a heart attack and dont rush me woman, im coming!" i said rolling my eyes and chuckling at her

Three hours later we had both of our rooms, the bath room and our living room set up. The only things left to do is the kitchen and the dinning room and it was already late so we decided it could wait until tomorrow. I was starving and im sure Salem is too because she can eat an entire store and still be full but not gain a single pound.

"Hey Salem, do you wanna go get some food, im starving ?

"uhm hell yeah ! I thought you'd never ask ! i was about to go alone if you didnt want to go."

I couldnt help but laugh because i knew it was true, she isnt a shy person and she would have asked the first person she seen if they'd go with her. Salem hates going to eat alone, she says it makes her look like a loser with no friends.

"Alright let me grab my purse and we can go."

A few minutes later we found ourselves sitting down at a nearby Panera Bread, which i was silently thankful for because this was my favorite place.

Once we had ordered Salem cleared her throat trying to pull my attention away from my phone.

"Is there something you would like to say ?" i asked chuckling at her

"Well since you asked, not really. I just wanted to actually talk to your face and not your forehead for a change."

"Salem, that didnt make any sense." i said squinting my eyes at her in confussion

"It means that every time i look up all i can see it you forehead because your face is buried in your phone. It made perfectly good sense, its not my fault your cell phone is killing your brain cells and you cant understand jokes anymore." she said crossing her arms over her chest

"Okay, im sorry. Whats up ?"

" I was just wondering if you wanted to go to this party i got invited to tonight ?" she said getting a wicked smile on her face

"And how did you manage to get invited to a party already salem, We've literally been here for a total of 5 hours and we unpacked for 3 of them." I asked with honest confusion on my face.

"Well when i went to the Administration building to get my class schedule for Monday, i ran into these sexy guys that were sitting in there with me. They started flirting with me and asked if i wanted to come and told me to bring my friends. Well honey, as of right now youre my only friend and so that means youre coming with me." she said smiling at me

" i cant say im surprised. Of course im going, i love a good party and its been a while since i talked to any cute boys." i said giving her a grin

"EEEEEKKK GREAT ! This is going to be just like high school only with sexier guys. The party starts at 10 but thats a little early so i say we go at like 11, ya know so we dont look lame."

" Very true my friend. Well its already 9:47 so by the time we get done eating and get ready it should be about that time."

" Oh my gosh, this is going to be awesome ! Oh Look ! Our foods here, im starving !" She said rubbing her stomach

Well this night should be interesting.
