It was awkward. The air was suffocating as she stared at the man who would be responsible for her, at least until the government retracted her death certificate and gave her the all clear to stop attending court mandated therapy. "HI there, I'm Alaric. You must be Althea." She nodded politely at him. He awkwardly stared back at her, unsure what to do next. "Do you want to come in for a drink?" He asked the orderly as he placed down Althea's bag.

"No, thank you, I best be off." The orderly nodded to the two and closed the door behind him.

The hallway was littered with family photos and marks of a happier time. Strange to think half the people in those photos were dead, and barely any of them spark recognition to Althea. She supposed that was better in a way. She was detached from that grief. A grief she wasn't even sure she could feel anyway. "Althea?" A tentative voice called from what seemed to be the living room. Althea knew that voice anyway. It had haunted her nightmares and graced her dreams.

"Jeremy?" She asked, and for the first time in a while, her voice broke. Betraying her emotions she'd sworn to hide.

Jeremy rushed out of the living room and stared at his sister. He was so different from 5 years ago. No longer a young boy, now a young man. Althea had to clench her fist to stop from crying. "Can I hug you?" He asked delicately.

She nodded her head, and he rushed into her arms. She was home. The second she smelt his scent, the second she heard his voice. She knew everything could be okay. Now she had her brother back.

"Althea!" A female voice called. Althea pulled away from Jeremy reluctantly to look at the brown haired doe eyed girl. She didn't like her. It was a gut feeling. She knew this girl was trouble. She could feel it. Her magic could feel it. She approached Althea, arms open ready for a hug when Althea put her hand up cautiously.

"I don't like people touching me," She said.

Elena glared at the girl, "but Jeremy literally just hugged you."

"Only Jeremy can touch me." Elena rolled her eyes at Althea. It's just like it was before. Jeremy this and Jeremy that. Why didn't Althea see that Elena was more important than Jeremy? She needed the attention, not him.

"So the doctors said you agreed to go back to school to get your qualifications. So we enrolled you back at the high-school," Alaric smiled politely at her.

Althea smiled back at him. He was a kind man, it seemed. Mildly awkward, but his emotions were so quiet. "What do you mean she's going back to school? She's like 23!" Elena exclaimed. She did not want her sister in the same year as her.

"And? I literally got kidnapped before I graduated," Althea deadpanned which caused Elena to give her sympathetic eyes. She turned to hug Althea again, and the Althea side stepped her.

"The doctors said you've had some memory loss?" Jeremy questioned, taking her hand in his. He was so happy to have his big sister back, he never wanted to let her go again.

"Yeah, I only remember you, Jeremy."

"Wait, really?" Jeremy asked, tears shining in his eyes. He was so scared she wouldn't remember him, wouldn't like him anymore. It seemed that would not be the case.

"What about me?" Elena asked quietly.

"I'm really sorry, but I remember very little about you." Althea really did feel bad about it. She hadn't wanted to forget anything about her family. That choice was stolen from her. Just like 5 years of her life was stolen from her. "But the doctors think I'll start to remember. Especially hanging around you all."

Elena huffed and went upstairs. Honestly Althea was a little hurt by the rejection. But she wasn't here for Elena, she was here for Jeremy. And as long as Jeremy wants her here she will be.

"Nobody really touched your room after you disappeared. It was too painful. For Jenna especially. I really missed you, Thea," Jeremy gave her a said smile as he showed her around the house and to her bedroom. The room was very red. Red rug, bedding, decor. She must've really liked the colour red. Ironic, really, considering.

"I wish I could remember Jenna. Her being my birth mother and all," Althea gave Jeremy a sad smile and took a seat on her bed. It was weird being in a room that she should know, but it felt comfortable. It felt like her. "You embarrassed to be going to school with your twenty something sister?"

"Definitely not, I can't wait. Its a shame we are in the same year, but I'll make sure to spend lunch with you," Jeremy smiled sweetly at her. Flopping down on her bed next to her. "I wash the sheets and dusted and hoovered when we found our you were coming home. Didn't want it to be all dirty when you got back."

"You're such a sweetheart, Jeremy. I'm glad you didn't lose that." She laid down on the bed next to him and curled into his side. As he used to do as a child. She didn't remember closing her eyes, but it was the most peaceful sleep she had gotten since she was kidnapped.
