The day was like any other, she woke up dreading having to walk the crowded halls of school and having to sit and listen to someone talk about something she wasn't even interested in for an entire 6 hours. She couldn't even listen to music while in class because they claimed it would distract her.

She sighed and dragged herself out of bed, walking over to her drawers, picking out an outfit and throwing it onto her bed before grabbing a wide tooth comb and attempting to tame her curls. Once she decided she looked alright, she put on her shirt, which happened to be The Cure's disintegration shirt. And pairing it with a pair of baggy jeans and black boots. She grabbed a hoodie, placed it on her bed, and then headed out to the bathroom to clean her teeth and wash her face.

"Morning honey," her grandmother spoke as she walked downstairs

"Morning grandma," She smiled

"No breakfast again?"

"No, thank you," She replied

"Good morning, Victoria," Brian grinned

"Good morning, granddad." Her smile widened when he spoke

"You almost ready for school?" He asked

"Yeah, I just have to grab my bag, then I'll be ready to go,"

"Okay, I'll be waiting in the car,"

With that, she walked upstairs to grab her bag, phone, headphones, and hoodie before walking back down, giving her grandmother a quick kiss on the cheek and heading out the front door to the car.

She hopped into the car and put her seatbelt on grabbing her favorite CD and placing it into the stereo not minding the other songs and skipping to her favorite out of the album so she'd be able to listen to it before school. She sang along to lyrics of Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' quietly as she waited to arrive at her school.

When the car pulled up to the gates, she took a deep breath before opening the door and steeping outside.

"Bye Tori, have a good day, try not to kill anyone," Her grandfather laughed

"I'll try," She smiled and closed the door, waving to him as he pulled away from the curb and drove off

Tori pulled her headphones over her ears, blasting her playlist to try and drown out the building anxiety that was twisting inside of her.

She got to form and sat down in her normal chair on a desk that was never crowded as she didn't usually talk to the other people in her school as she never really liked them.

"Okay, Form A8, we have a new student, and I want you all to make him feel very welcome he will be here for the next few months." Ms. Smith said as she pointed to the boy standing next to her

"I will assign one of you to look after him and make sure he finds his way to all of his classes,"

"That's all from me now. Feel free to talk until roll call,"

"Victoria, can you come see me for a second?" She said, waving the girl over

Victoria took off her headphones and walked up to the teacher

"What can I help you with, Miss?" She smiled tightly

"This is Shane. I want you to look after him for the six months that he's here," She replied, pointing to the brunette boy next to her

"Why me?" She questioned slightly irritated

"Because you both have the same timetable, and I found that it was suitable for him to stick with one person instead of several now. Please help him fit in," She smiled curtly
