There's a loud bang heard across the hall. Then a thud.
Rei Sato, a girl of shadows and moonlight, steps out of a room. There is blood dripping from her neck and arms, coating her fingers.
She just killed someone. An important someone. The leader of a powerful gang opposing her father. Milan Ferrars. A man of pure muscle and tattoos. When people speak of him, they shiver and whisper. Their companions' eyes widen and dart around the room. He is their boogieman.
And yet, there he is, on the ground, dead.
Killed by a seventeen-year-old girl who decided to be merciful and end him with a bullet wound to his cold, black heart.
Her father won't be happy about that, but she can't afford to worry about that now. She has blood to wipe off her hands and her brother to meet in thirty minutes.
She makes a stop in Milans restroom, peeling off her gown— if you could even call it that- and throwing it on the ground. It was a small, silk dress, with a pale lilac color and lace trimming.
Why is it so easy to seduce people with power? Is it because they have that power? That they think they are untouchable.
Rei laughs at the thought.
She's the Phantom of the Night.
They should have known better than that.
After scrubbing her body clean and watching the crimson liquid swirl down the drain, she grabs a white towel and walks to Milans room, ignoring the body bleeding out on the floor.
She grabs one of his white button ups. She's small, and the shirt falls to her knees. She grabs a belt and wraps it around her waist before putting her heeled boots back on.
This'll have to work, she thinks. At least until I get home.
There, she can change into her favored pants and loose shirt and call it a day.
Or night.
She's not sure what time it is.
It's not unusual for Kiyoshi, her brother, to request her presence at all hours of the night. He's... special, she guesses.
Hyperactive.
And it doesn't help that his ability relies on that. He is practically a ball of energy.
She's careful to wipe down her gun and stuff it in her bag. Giving a quick glance around the room, making sure she doesn't leave anything incriminating (not as if they'll do anything about it) behind. Nothing.
She exits the room, and leaves out the backdoor, unnoticed.
Invisible.
She waits until she is down the street before she allows herself to be seen.
Reaching into her bag, she pulls out the note her brother gave her just before he left.
10th street. Under the bridge.

If his goal was to both be vague and infuriate Rei, he succeeded.
He knows who lives on tenth street.
Lysandra Rosalez.
Self-proclaimed queen bee and ruler of the nation.
She has an ego the size of Jupiter. And an inferiority complex to match. Honestly, she's infuriating to even read about.
She's always in the tabloids, her, and her bitch of a boyfriend Levi Arquette.
Mr. and Mrs. Mommy and daddy issues.
They were a match made in hell.
She also is a firm believer that Rei is the reason her father is dead.
She's not.
But, if Rei was being honest, she's a bit scared of Lysandra. Rei has seen her mad before, and it didn't end well.
Rei still has a scar from it.
She whispers a quick prayer, hoping that Lysandra was deep asleep.
When Rei reaches 10th street, she sprints to the bridge, her heels clicking loudly against the cement.
The sight when she reaches the bridge is quite shocking.
Her brother is there, yes.
But he has a gun.
And is pointing it straight at her.
