he gets super flustered in public, but he'll still hold you close. in private, however, it's kinda like a switch, all his awkwardness just seems to vanish away.

he would be a really fun friend. though he would probably deny being your friend, even if you're together most of the time.
the friendship would probably start by meeting at the wangshu inn. you would find xiao one day on the balcony and try to talk to him. xiao, of course, ignores you and disappears. you then find out he likes almond tofu alot, so you made him some and tried to find him. xiao shows up, eats the almond tofu while listening to you introduce yourself and talk, then disappears again after saying thank you and bye.
the next time it happens, xiao eats the almond tofu and says thank you, but unlike what you were expecting, he doesn't say bye. instead, he tells you that you should stop trying to be friends with him as it'll only end in disaster, then he disappears without saying any more.
of course, you don't stop, if anything, this made you want to attempt to be his friend even more.
and so, it keeps going on like this for about a month or two until xiao finally gives up ignoring you and trying to put distance between them.
it's a slow process at first, with xiao being hesitant. he mostly would just walk with y/n around liyue and listen to whatever y/n may be talking about.
eventually, he does warm up to you and starts seeing you more often. he'd end up sharing more about himself and actually replying actual sentences in conversations instead of just nodding and replying an "mhm" or "yeah."
anyway, you and he become besties after the exhausting two/four months of trying to befriend him.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

he loves cuddling and likes to hold you close for as long as he can. he'd probably hug you from behind in the morning or when you're doing something, spoon you (or you spoon him), hold you close by the waist, etc.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

he'd be super hesitant to settle down, since your mortal and is bound to die one day, as that would mean dealing with the loss of you. (unless.. yk what im making y/n immortal so we can be with xiao forever <3) after getting over the hesitation, though, he'd be happy to marry one day.
xiao's probably not the best at cooking, as he doesn't even really need or understand human food, causing him to never learn how to cook.
it's the same with cleaning. he's not the best at it but could learn it if he really had to.
