Wilbur was depressed. He had no family near by, no friends, no partner. He had no one.

He went to work like usual on a dull, cloudy, grey, Friday morning. Upon arriving at the office, he headed to his small, crowded desk and sat down.

His desk was covered with clutter such as neglected files and paperwork, empty fast food cups, a fake plant graciously gifted to him by his friend Niki Nihachu, sticky notes galore, a random rotting banana, and a overfilled jar of pens.

Wilbur works in customer service so had a long, boring day ahead of him.

When he was younger he wanted to be a musician, or an actor, but was too nervous, felt like he wasn't skilled enough, and was told he wouldn't make any money, so gave up on his dream and became a customer service worker.

Work was so boring but you do what you gotta do to pay those huge bills and debts.

Wilbur hadn't slept well in days, so his attempts not to fall asleep were... ineffective to say the least.

Eventually he drifted to sleep while staring at his computer. His head rested against his propped up hand.

Wilbur opened his eyes to find he was lying on the grass. He sat up, noticing the blindingly bright sun, the extremally colourful flowers, the unusually green grass-

A voice caught him off guard.

"Are you okay there, mate?"

Wilbur whipped his head around to see a short, blonde man, wearing an all green outfit, along with a green and white stripped bucket hat. But what caught Wilbur's attention was the beautiful dark wings on the mans back.

Wilbur was the kid who grew up watching nature documentaries, and recognized them as crow's wings almost immediately. Wilbur was absolutely mesmerized by this strange man's wings.

"Mate?" The man gave Wilbur a puzzled look.

Wilbur pushed the thoughts from his head and looked up at the man.

"Hello?" Wilbur spoke softly and calmly. Perhaps it was the exhaustion, or maybe something else, but Wilbur was very calm despite the strange circumstances.

The man chuckled and offered him a hand up.

Wilbur took it and stood.

"What's your name?" The winged man asked.

"I'm Wilbur Soot, pleasure to meet you." Wilbur answered without thought. Working in customer service meant saying your name millions of times a day.

"Nice to meet you Wilbur, I'm Philza but call me Phil." The Phil introduced himself, holding out his hand to shake.

Wilbur shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you too Phil. Your wings are gorgeous..." He said forgetting to filter his thoughts.
