He wasn't always blue
He emerged into the world pink
Pink hands and feet
Pink cheeks
Pink clothes
Pink
He grew up pink
But began to feel blue
Why blue?
Why not pink like he was raised
Pink the color of his being
His breasts and genitals
Why blue?
And the blue ate at him
He longed to be colored blue
Yet the only thing blue now
Was his thoughts and feelings
Blue
He cried blue
He cut his wrists
And the blue then washed the pink
He tried to cover the pink
He screamed when he was reminded
He sobbed when he remembered
And his soul rose from his body
A beautiful royal blue
And he flew so far and fast from
Pink
The little blue boy
He ran from the pink
And ran for the embrace of blue
Hoping it would rub off on him
Blue
He became lost and felt green
He became angry and felt red
He searched for blue
He was shaded a purple
Closer
Closer to blue
But the tint of pink
It remained
Cackling
The pink sometimes whispered to him
How blue would never wash away pink
Pink remained
Subtle
Pink
And he sobbed
The blue washed down his cheeks
He stood up
He began to run again closer to blue
Blue was in touch
Blue
His shade became darker
Farther from pink
Pink became a soft scream
And now a memory
The little blue boy
Was now just that
Blue
