Sunny Skies stood in the corner of the room, looking sadly down at the floor as he listened to his parents yell at his little sister.

"Where in Equestria were you?!" Cloudy's father, Silver Frost yelled.

"Do you realize your poor sister had to walk home alone?!" her mother, Morning Glory glared at her angrily.

"I'm sorry! I forgot to tell Sunny and Sun Drop where I was going..." Cloudy looked down at the floor sadly.

 "And where were you, huh?"

"Melody and I went to meet Flurry Heart at the train station..." Cloudy answered softly.

Her parents exchanged a glance before turning to their daughter. "And exactly why would you go to meet the princess??" Silver Frost asked.

"She's one of my best friends...I was excited to finally see her again..."

Her parents and sister scoffed and laughed at her. "Hah! Cloudy, you aren't even close to being worthy of her company! What made you think of a pathetic excuse like that??" Sun Drop laughed in her face.

Cloudy looked up at them with sad eyes. "But...But it's the truth..."

"I will have no more of your lies! How dare you say your friends with a princess! Now you go to your room, young lady." Morning Glory snapped.

Cloudy Skies turned and slowly walked into her room, the door closing behind her.

After his parents and sister had left the room, Sunny Skies went into Cloudy's room. He saw her lying on her bed, face down. "Cloudy..?" he asked softly. Cloudy looked up at him, tears in her eyes. Sunny sat down on her bed and took her in his hooves. He hugged his sister as she cried.

"Why, Sunny...? Why don't they love me or believe me? Is it that bad that I'm different from all of you..?" she asked in a quiet tone.

"No, Cloudy! You are a beautiful pony! Prettier than Sun Drop! It's amazing that your a pegasis too!"

"Sunny, I can't fly." she dead panned, looking up at her brother.

"Well, that may be true, but it's still cool. And your talent-" Sunny was cut off by his little sister.

"Sunny, they won't let me write and use my talent. They won't let me have a quill, ink, or paper."

Sunny nodded slowly, trying to think of something to say. "Well, it's still cool, even if mother and father don't like it."

"They don't like anything about me, big brother...I wish I could just be like them...Maybe they'd like me..."

"Don't say that, Cloudy! You are perfect just the way you are! Your colors, your talent, your wings, even your inability to fly. It's ok to be different. Besides, what's important, is what's inside. And if you were like them, you'd be stuck up, mean, and selfish."

Cloudy frowned at the thought. "Your probably right. Though I didn't mean their personality." she gave a small chuckle.

"I know."  the siblings laughed and smiled.

"Thank you, Sunny. I can always count on you to make me feel better.." Cloudy smiled at her brother.

 "No problem, little sister."

 *Meanwhile*

"Midnight, I haven't seen you talk so much in a long time! What got into you??" Lightning Cloud asked his brother.

Midnight Flare sat on the bottom bunk of the brother's bunk bed. "I don't really know..." he said in a quiet voice.

Midnight was usually a quiet pony. He didn't talk much at all. His brother was basically his voice and, if he needed anything up high, his wings. Midnight usually only talked when he and his brother were alone. Even then he was quiet.

"Well, maybe that pony has a little something to do with it?~" Lightning asked in a suggestive tone.

Midnight went a little pink. You could see the pink through his dark coat. "L-Lightning! I just met her!" "That doesn't mean you can't have a crush on her!"

"Well, do you have a crush on the princess?" This time, it was Lightning Cloud's turn to turn pink.

 "Midnight!"

"What? Just because you just met doesn't mean you can't have a crush." Midnight Flare smirked, using his brother's words against him.

"Sweet Celestia, I wish you'd stop using what I say against me..." his brother face palmed.

"Well, if I can have a crush on somepony I just met, surely you can to." Midnight stated.

"So you do like her! I knew it!" Lightning declared triumphantly.

Midnight's eyes were wide, his cheeks pink. "Uh....M-maybe a little..." "Oh, I knew it! And, I guess, if your gonna admit it, I guess I will too.."

"You don't have to. I already know your feelings without you telling me." Midnight remarked.

Lightning rolled his eyes and smiled. "Of course you did."

Lightning Cloud and Midnight Flare were close. For Midnight, it was obvious Lightning Cloud liked Flurry Heart. For Lightning, it was obvious Midnight Flare liked Cloudy Skies. They could see it in each other's faces.
