Noahs POV

As walked into the building I was very nervous. This would be my first basketball game ever. I was five years old and 4 feet 3 inches at the time. As they called the players on to the court I was elated and scared. I was worried that I might screw up like I did last soccer season.....

Flashback 1 year ago

Our team was up 2 to 1 with about 3 minutes left. I scored 2 straight goals to put our team up by three with 1 minute and 30 seconds left. Then my friend Brady got on fire. He scored 3 goals in 45 seconds to tie the game up 4-4. Then with 10 seconds left I stole the ball fron Brady. I started to dribble it upfield. I passed three people before Brady caught up to me. I kicked passed him and noticed that there were 3 seconds left. I quickly shot the ball and scored! It wasn't until after the play that I noticed that I had kicked it in the wrong goal. I was deflated. It was terrible to hear the other team celebracting the win. My teammates tried to cheer me up but I was too mad to care.

End of Flashback

This time I was determined not to let the same mistake happen again. Our team was away so we got the ball first. My team had a quick huddle and then we were ready. I was not terrified at all anymore, I was pumped to start my basketball career.

As my coach told our team the game plan he told me that I would be the point guard. That was no surprise as I was the shortest player on the floor. The ref then called the teams over and told us that we would get ball first. As my teammate inbounded I was super excited to begin!

TWEET!!!!! The ref blew his whistle signaling halftime. I played pretty well scoring 8 points but we were down by 10. It was terrible and I was in a bad mood. As the second half started eveyone on my team was deflated except for me. I scored 12 points in a row to put our team up by 2. Our team was suddenly back into this. When the ref signaled for the end of the third quarter we were up by 7. I had scored all 19 of our teams points. Then everything fell apart.

The fourth quarter was terrible. Our team ended up losing by 18 points! I only scored 4 points and we were outscored 31-6! I almost decided to give up basketball and only play soccer. Luckily I decided not to. This desision will change my future and bring me many fun times. But also the bad times will appear.
