Summer

The slide incident...

I walked back to my house and changed clothes. I noticed a silver rectangle put of the corner of my eye. I picked it up.

A $50 visa card. That I could spend on whatever. I smiled wide. There was a note on the back.

Life just got way better. I left my mom a note to let her know I'm at the park with Lizzy.

I flew out the door and onto my bike. Down fourth street, turn left onto Sagamore street, and another left to Copper avenue. That's where the park is.

I saw Matt by the monkey bars. He was talking to Lizzy. This was not good! She was probably telling him how much I obsess over him. I ran over to them.

"Hey Lizzy and Matt. What are you talking about? I commanded.

"Oh nothing at all." Matt said.

I gave Lizzy the 'I will kill you' look while she gave me a smirk. I rolled my eyes and gave her a 'tell me now!' look.

"That's cool how you can communicate through looks." Matt said.

We all laughed. Suddenly Henry came over with a football asking Matt to play.

I waved goodbye.

I waited until they were a good distance away. "What were you two talking about?" I asked. She smirked. "Stop with the smirks and tell me!"

"We may or may not have been talking about you." She said. I felt relieved.

"So Matt was talking about me?" I said.

Lizzy smiled "More like asking."

I jumped up and down. "Well I've got to go." I said. "You're leaving already?"

"No I'm just hiding from these people."

"But Emmy! We all wanted to hang out with you." she said.

"To bad." I ran away from her before she could question me anymore. I just don't feel like socializing right now.

I found a slide to go in. I settled inside. It was blue and had marking all over. I heard someone coming. I prepared myself to run. That's when my biggest fear came true. Matt came into the slide.

I guess he didn't notice me. Don't know how. He looked over to me. He started to scream which caught me off guard and I started to scream.

Once we both started to settle down I looked over to Matt. "A simple hello would have been okay." I said. I started to feel the butterflies. Doing black flips. While eating burritos. In my stomach.

He laughed. "I'm just playing hide and seek with the guys."

"I'm playing hide and seek from humans." I said. Wait! Did I just say something totally cool and smooth. Yes. Yes I did.

"Cool. Don't mind if I join do you?" He asked.

My heart fluttered. "No not at all."

He settled down a little better. I took out my phone and started texting Lizzy about what is happening.

She wasn't answering.

"What kind of phone do you have?" Matt asked.

Oh no he must have been looking at my phone this whole time!...stalker... "Umm... it's a 4s." I say.

"Cool." he responds.

Did he just call my phone cool? Oh

my gosh he just called my phone cool. Yes! Yes! Yes!
