Sky x Rylee (Part 5)

Rylee paced over the text message in her mind over and over again.

Sky: want to run away with me?

"Should I?" Rylee thought out loud. Her stomach growled, interrupting her thoughts. "I might as well eat breakfast first, I need my energy to run away!" She slowly lifted her body off the bed, walked to the kitchen, and scanned through the breakfast options. Her dad was on the couch, reading the newspaper, while keeping a close eye on Rylee. She eventually decided on bland cereal. She got the milk out and poured it in a bowl, then poured the cereal. She ate breakfast alone at the table. Her younger siblings haven't woken up yet, so she could do whatever. She scrolled through TikTok until she realized she forgot to turn off do not disturb! She checked her messages and saw that there were 6 new unreads from Sky...

Sky: want to run away with me?

Sky: hello?

Sky: hellooooo

Sky: RYLEE WAKE UP

Sky: r u there

Sky: 🥺🥺🥺

Sky: Rylee its not funny wake up pls

Rylee quickly typed up a response.

Rylee: sorry i was eating breakfast 😅

Rylee: ofc ill run away with u 💗🤍🧡

Rylee finished her breakfast and speed walked to her room to pack some essentials. She didn't want to leave yet, she wanted to wait until the middle of the night, when nobody would see her, and her family would be asleep. She went out into the living room to grab her phone charger, which she left there on accident, and glanced at the calendar at the wall. She needed a double, no, triple take to see what was written for today.

"Family Gathering"

"ON ALL POSSIBLE DAYS?! UGHHH OF COURSE THIS WOULD HAPPEN!" Rylee said in her mind. Her mother was in the room doing the dishes before the family came. Before she could walk away, her mother called her. "Oh, Rylee, could you help me with the dishes?" She grimaced and slowly turned around. "O-ok mom." She set the phone charger on the counter and went over to help with the dishes. Just as she was done however, someone was knocking on the door. Rylee's dad got up and said, "That must be them!" Rylee had to get away, and fast. She quickly grabbed the charger and ran to the hallway, aiming for her room, but her dad was faster. He opened the door and relatives from across America came rushing in. Rylee's grandma saw her as she was running away, and said, "Oh, Rylee! I haven't seen you in forever! Come here and give Granny a kiss!" Rylee froze in her tracks, plastered a fake smile, and said, "G-grandma! It's nice to see you!"

As she gave her a hug, more relatives began rushing in. Cousins, younger cousins, some hot older cousins, uncles, aunts, and the like. The young cousins ran around the house as their parents began chasing them down to get them under control. Rylee's parents greeted everyone and they all talked in the living room. Rylee knew her parents wouldn't let her get away, so she had to be sneaky. One of her unknown relatives had a baby with them, which started crying for some reason. But for Rylee, this reason was the perfect getaway plan. Since all the attention would now be on the baby, Rylee could slink away to her room while no one is looking.

The lucky mom started shushing and cradling the baby as Rylee slowly began snaking out of the chair. She crawled  behind the chair as the woman got up to get something for the baby. All she had to do was to make it to the hallway and then she was free. She crawled as fast as she could to the hallway. Thankfully, she made it. She stood up, finally out of sight from her family. She silently ran to her room, where she could finally reply to Sky that she would have to wait a little longer.
