He nudges the plate of food a little closer to me with pleading eyes.

"Liam, I'm not hungry." I mumble, refusing to look at the calorie filled plate.

"You have to eat something, Hope. Have you even eaten anything at all today?" he asks. I know for a fact I haven't. Not today. Not yesterday. I've barely eaten anything, not since Harry left me, a month ago.

"I had a big breakfast..." I say lying right to his face, but Liam knows better. Liam and I have friends since second grade when we sat next to each other in music class. He was a beautiful singer even as a second grader. He doesn’t sing much anymore, though I wish he did.

"Hope. Please." Liam begs. I shake my head and he sighs and stands up to pay for the food I wasted. I follow him to the counter feeling the eyes of people staring at me as I walk behind him.

"Can we please go?" I say softly to Liam, tugging on his shirt. The cashier hands him his receipt with a fake smile and then we are heading straight towards the door. Liam doesn’t speak a single word. "Are you mad?"

"No. Just...sad." Liam says, calmly.

"Why are you sad?" I snap. I immediately regret it, but I don't understand. Why would he be sad? His boyfriend of 2 years didn't just break up with him on Valentine’s Day.

"I'm watching my best friend fall apart and I have no idea what to do about it. I've tried everything!" Liam snaps. And he really has, from bringing me my favorite foods to telling my parents about it.

I pull the door of Liam’s car shut with all the strength I have, which isn't much. The door shuts with a quiet click. Liam pulls out of the driveway and starts heading down Main Street, driving away from Wolverhamptom. "Where are we going?" I ask Liam. No response. "Liam?" nothing. I sigh and look at the signs rushing past me out the window.

One sign that reads 'Kingswood Common' makes fat tears roll down my face. This was where Harry and I met. I quickly use my shirt sleeve to wipe the tears of my face.

We keep going and going until there is nothing but grass and a few trees by the deserted road.

Soon enough a big gray cement building pops up into view. The words on the front of the building make my empty stomach drop. The big white letters read:

Caynton Hospital for The Mentally Ill
