Great potential

There it was, Mondstadt.
My dad has been here many times before to sell his food, and today was the first time for me to help him.
He's getting old, so I need to learn his doings to continue this business.

"Take a walk, I don't want you to miss out on this city" My dad smiled at me as he got everything ready.
"Really? Are you sure?" I asked him.
I thought I was here to learn from him!

He nodded and waved me away as the first customers arrived.
Okay, just a few minutes looking around won't hurt.
I was kinda nervous, my clothes didn't fit into this city at all and I could feel people looking at me, not in a bad way necessarily, but I was still embarrassed.

Believe it or not, eventually I got lost.
I was standing infront of a huge statue.
That must be the statue of Lord Barbatos.
While admiring, someone bumped into me.

"HOLD, THIEF!" Someone behind us screamed.
The man that ran into me apologised and was about to continue running when I grabbed the back of his shirt.
Caught of guard he stumbled and fell into the water beneath the statue.

"Thank you my friend" I heard the voice that was screaming seconds ago.
He held out his hand to the thief.

The thief misunderstood and took his hand, thinking he'd get pulled out.
The blue haired man let go and the thief fell again.
"You know what I want" The man said with a cold tone.

Is it really appropriate to watch this show?
I turned around to leave, but the man held me by my shoulder.

"Hold on, I didn't catch your name" He smiled.
"I'm Kaeya by the way, knight of Favonius" he added.
"My name's Y/N"
He looked at me up and down.
"Let me guess, you're visiting from Liyue?"

"Wow, really? How'd you tell?" I answered slightly sarcastic.
He giggled. "I'd like to thank you, Y/N. Are you visiting long?"
"I'm afraid tomorrow morning we're leaving"
He put up his hand to his chin to think.

"I see, well then" He looked me in the eyes. "I'm inviting you to join me this evening in the tavern, Angels Share."
Without letting me accept or denie the invite, he left.

What the hell, I don't even know where that tavern is!
I decided I had enough of exploring and tried to find my way back to dad.
I tried.

"Hello cutie, you look lost, may I help you?" A brown haired, witchy-looking women asked me.
"Uhm, I can't find the market place" I muttered.
She gently took my arm and guided me trough Mondstadt.

"I'm Lisa, if you ever need help you can find me in the library at the headquarter of the knights of Favonius" with that she said goodbye.

"I see you already made friends" my dad laughed.
I smiled at him, not sure what to answer.
Angels Share! I should've asked Lisa where it is.
I doubt that my dad knows, so I didn't bother asking him.

I helped him clean the booth and counted the money.
After that, I brought him to his accommodation and left to find Lisa.

I had to ask around a few times, but eventually I found the headquarter.
Just as I was about to open the door, it opened itself.
A little surprised I stumbled back.

When I looked up, I stared into Kaeyas eyes.
"I didn't expect to get picked up, how nice" he smirked.
"Uhh" I was unable to form any words.
"Great, then we can go together" he said and went ahead.

I followed him, already imagining how awkward this will be.
As we arrived, he opened the door for me and said I should wait for him on the upper floor.

I walked up the spiral stairs and took a sneak peak back to him.
He looked really hot, can't deny that.
He was talking to a red haired man behind the counter.

I quickly sat down and waited for Kaeya.
I was getting kind of nervous, this almost feels like a date!

"Soo" Kaeya said as he sat down in front of me.
"Tell me a little about yourself, why are you visiting Mondstadt?"
"I'm here with my father, he's selling food" I told him fidgeting with my hair.

"Intersting" he looked at me while drinking his wine.
"Yeah, we're selling food like red bean buns, Tanghulu and egg tarts, mostly sweets" I started to babble.

"Are you interested in working for the knights of Favonius?" He asked without hesitation.
"Huh-"
"I could organise a permanent accommodation for you here" he added.
I blankly stared at him.

"I'm serious Y/N, I see great potential with you"
"I feel honoured, but I can't" I said.
Suddenly he put his hand on my shoulder.
I could feel the blood rushing in my face.
He looked me directly into my eyes.
"Please, think about it"

He stood up, looked back at me and walked out of the tavern.
He left me behind confused and a bit tipsy.
Wow.

Why should I even join the knights of Favonius anyways?
What does he mean with 'potential'?
Because I grabbed the thief?
Doesn't sound like potential to my ears!

Also, my family is in Liyue, I can't leave them alone there!
No, my answer is no.
I waited a little, scared I would walk across Kaeya if I left now.

I finished up my wine Kaeya had paid and got up.
Hold on, what was that melody?
I looked down and saw a bard.
He was playing so heavenly!

I walked down the stairs to get a closer look.
He was a short boy, looked pretty young.
He looked kinda familiar, but I couldn't figure it out.
After I gave him a little Mora I left.

[Next Morning]
"Good morning Y/N" My dad greeted me.
"Good morning" I smiled at him.
"Where have you been?" He asked while taking a sip of his coffee.

"Huh?"
"Yesterday evening." He looked at me.
I blushed a little.
"I was out"
"I realised, but with whom?"
I told him about everything what happened yesterday, the thief, the invite, the offer.

"Y/N! You where asked to work with the knights of Favonius?"
"Y-yeah?"
He took both of my hand into his.
"Say yes, this is a great chance!"

"What! But dad, what about-"
He cut me of.
"Ah stop it, making great food is a talent which you don't have."
Excuse me?
