Chapter 3: Dinner
Once Jeydon and I traveled across the street, I stopped in front of my door before turning around to look at him.
His smile shone bright and his eyes sparkled. (Holy shit, how cheesy…)
“Umm, just excuse my mom for anything that she says or does… She’s pretty crazy.” I said smiling at him.
He flipped his hair out of his face before saying, “Oh, don’t worry. I bet our mom’s would get along well. My mom is coo-coo.”
“Coo-coo for what?” I asked, wondering if he knew what to say back.
“Coo-coo for coco puffs, of course!” He said in a high pitched voice as I laughed.
“Hell yeah.” I said high fiving him again smiling.
The door then flung open, showing my mom in a different outfit that just five minutes ago.
She wore blue denim Capris with a floral top. Her hair was down in long black curly waves like mine. Her green eyes were outlined with her eyeliner and mascara.
“Well finally I get to meet your boyfriend!” My mom yells enthusiastically smiling a clapping.
I looked down at the floor making sure Jeydon doesn’t see me blush. My mom is the best but worst mom ever. She is so embarrassing. The last time I had a guy friend over at my house she offended him since he was gay, and he never talked to me again.
"It’s nice to meet you, Jeydon. Call me Keri.” My mom said putting out her hand for Jeydon to shake.
“Nice to meet you too, Keri.” Jeydon said sincerely smiling and shaking my crazy moms hand.
“Well, come on into our lovely house!” Mom said moving out of the doorway and letting us in. “Dinner will be done in about ten minutes, so please, make yourself at home.”
“Thank you.” Jeydon said.
Mom then proceeded into the kitchen door and as it shut.
“Come on.” I said and grabbed Jeydon’s hand, not intertwining our fingers, and lead him out of the living room and up carpeted stairs before we walked down the familiar hall into my room.
Once in my room I let go of Jeydon’s hand and closed my door. I turned around to see him looking at my photo that I put up on my desk.
I walked over to him looking at it too.
“That was just in April.” I said breaking the silence that spread over us. I saw him nod and I proceeded talking. “I can’t believe that, just because my dad, I would have to move across the country and leave all my friends behind…”
“It must have been hard on your mom too.”
I sat down on my computer chair, logging into my laptop and said, “It seems she doesn’t care…”
“You can’t say that. You both went through something really tough. You just both need to know that both of you feel the same way.”
I looked up at him, still scanning the picture. His words made the slightest sense in my head. I just can’t assume because she doesn’t show it.
Once I was logged in my wallpaper of Hannah and I at my mustache eighteenth birthday party. Yes, the theme were mustache's.
"Nice screen saver." Jeydon said grabbing my stool infront of my vanity and sitting on it, once infront of my laptop.
