THE ROOM WAS LIT UP IN HUES OF AUREOLE as soon as y/n's trance of slumber dissipated. As she was lying down, her half-lidded eyes roamed around the chamber, scanning the clean shade of gray masonry walls that she had never seen once in the palace.
Her eyebrows met. She was immediately puzzled, questions about her whereabouts sprouted inside her as she confusingly laid her eyes everywhere once again. Clarity of a lifeless pigment are all around her, from furniture down to the sheets where she woke up. That room was quite new in her peers, a room she had never been into nor had Dottore ever introduced to her.
There, whilst she's busy concerning herself regarding her location, fragments of memories from what happened after she slept came back in her mind and her breathing hitched at the idea that she was almost killed.
She groaned, closing her eyes tightly from the gallantry of fighting a Harbinger in his own domain, "What did I just do?"
"Finally." A frolic timber came from the open porch where her eyes immediately darted. It wasn't a timber belonging to Dottore, it was a voice she had never heard before. At once, she felt frightened but the comfort stays there for she never sensed malice. It doesn't sound like someone whose intentions are far from good either, at least that's what she think.
Then, as if on cue, a man in his messy orange locks appeared behind the curtains concealing the porch. The ambiance around him is beaming, his smiles are radiant, no aura circulating him tells the lady that he's someone with malice.
"Who are you?" She asked in a low voice, her throat has zero moist.
"Childe." The latter winked, "Dottore, although he despises me, assigned me to guard you while he's settling something. It was something you're correlated to. And oh, nice to meet you, by the way."
She blinked, confused, "I'm... correlated to?"
Childe nodded blissfully, "As much as I don't want to think about it, Dottore's time was shorten ever since you arrived. And usually, he will lock you up if that happens but... he's not doing that. That's why I was intrigued regarding you and what did you do for him to show such feat. So, here I am!"
Again, the lady just stared at him, puzzles embedded inside her whilst she was registering what the latter opened up.
Amidst their silence, the door slowly sprung open all so sudden, revealing a cicin mage whose both hands are carrying trays with different foods and beverages. To whom it was designated is obvious when the cicin walked towards her, "My Lord sent these foods, my lady," she bows.
Y/n again just blinked. It felt as if she has no energy to carry out any task or reply to anything. Her body feels weak, as if something was pulled out and never replenished.
"I'll eat with her." Upon noticing how feeble she is, Childe smiled at the cicin mage who bowed upon his words before proceeding to leave.
"The Balladeer took quite a lot from you, didn't he?" He kept on talking, opening up the reason as to why she was lying in her bed at that moment.
She nodded weakly, "I feel so weak."
"It'll disappear as you eat. Do you know that you've been sleeping for two days?"
Y/n's eyes widened but to no avail did she let her surprise take over. Of course, she'll sleep for two days after that! She overdid herself when she tried to fight back a power of a Harbinger and it took quite of her breath to even steady herself at that moment. If not for Dottore's arrival, she doesn't even know how she ended up in the hands of that ruthless mutt.
"I wonder how you think of Dottore these past few days," Childe grinned, "You never escaped like always, that's what I heard. And you've been calling for him while you're sleeping."
