Minghao had just finished work and was walking down a dimly lit alleyway, clutching his hard-earned money tightly. Suddenly, he felt a strong grip on his neck and he was slammed against the wall.
Petrified, Minghao looked up to see a pale-skinned stranger with bloodshot eyes staring back at him. He could sense that something was not right with this person.
"I'm sorry, I won't steal again," Minghao pleaded, hoping that this was some kind of misunderstanding.
The stranger remained silent, and before Minghao could do anything, he sank his teeth into his neck, drinking his blood.
Minghao thrashed about, trying to break free, but the stranger was too strong.
Flashback
Vernon was in a group project with some of his classmates when one of the girls accidentally cut her finger and it started bleeding. Vernon, who had been struggling to control his urge for blood, found himself fixated on the sight of the girl's blood. He excused himself and left the room before anyone could notice his strange behavior.
As he made his way out of the building, his feet suddenly felt weak and he felt everything around him spin. The only thing he could think about was blood, and it was then that he saw someone walking towards him.
End of flashback
As Vernon drank from Minghao's neck, he felt a sense of euphoria that he hadn't felt in a long time. But as he came back to his senses, he realized what he had done. Minghao lay unconscious in his arms, his face pale and his breaths shallow. The shock and loss of blood caused him to pass out.Vernon quickly realized that he couldn't just leave him there in the alleyway.
He carried Minghao to the nearest hospital and left him there, paying for his bills and medication in full. Vernon knew that he couldn't stay there any longer and risk getting caught, so he quickly left the hospital before Minghao regained consciousness.
As he walked away from the hospital, Vernon couldn't help but feel guilty for what he had done. He had always tried to control his urge for blood, but in that moment, he had lost all sense of reason. He couldn't imagine what Minghao must be feeling, waking up in a hospital bed with no memory of what had happened.
