Day at the beach

The Caribbean sun burnt my face like hot coals; The glare was so bright that even with my sunglasses on I had to cover my eyes in a halfway salute. I felt the refreshing sea breeze caressing my skin and it eased the stifling heat of the sun. The water felt like a great escape as if it were taking me to another world, free of troubles and the worries of life. The water was cool and comforting, luring me to come in deeper and be swallowed by a symphony of waves.

I heard the waves breaking on the shore as if, for a moment, it was attacking the coast then as if beaten it humbly and calmly rolled back in. I heard a bird melodiously singing on the top of a coconut tree while the branches danced and rustled in time to the tune. The tranquility and harmony of the moment made me feel like I wanted it to last forever. It's only at times like these that I remember that beauty and peace still exists in this world of chaos, as if life is worth it because you can enjoy moments like these.

Before going into the water, I stood admiring the beautiful aquamarine colour if the deeper parts and the cloud of froth surfacing as water crashed into the shore. The sky was clear and blue, not one fluffy cloud in sight; It was a picturesque view indeed. Everything was so wonderfully beautiful, that it left me dazed, it was compelling and striking. At some moment when all these feelings and thoughts resonated through me, I felt tears filling my eyes and I knew it's not often that you have perfect moments but right then, I knew it was a perfect moment that I would cherish forever.
