Y/n POV|

I groggily got out of bed. My phone was on my desk, charging, and my alarm was blasting.

I turned it off and went to my kitchen to make coffee. I noticed a letter addressed to me on the table. I picked it up and opened it. It said important at the top. I thought the government wanted to arrest me or something.

    "Dear Y/n Rias.

You've been invited to join several other writers in this year's upcoming writer's lounge. You will be advised to talk about your new book, your struggles and your inspiration. Your group will be performing in diamond city. We will pay for your plane ticket and hotel admission. Self-catering is highly advised!

We will have snacks so please reply to this letter in an email with your allergies and your likes. Our email is at the end of this letter.

Please RSVP at Writerslounge2023.com and you will be immediately put on our list. We look forward to seeing you there!

Signed, Cally Hawkens, your writer's lounge agent!"

WHAT?! "Holy shit" I squealed. My older brother and roommate, Mysta, walked in. "What's going on?" he asked, rubbing his eyes after being just woken up. "Oh nothing, I just got invited to WRITER'S LOUNGE!!!" His eyes widened. "REALLY?" He asked, bewildered. I nodded. "I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!" He hugged me. "Mysta, will you come with me to watch?" He smiled. "Of course, I will, Y/n"

I grabbed the letter off the table again. "Do you want coffee before I go get ready for the day?" Mysta nodded. I made us coffee and we drank it while discussing what we needed to get done. Mysta needed to call off work on the dates of the writer's lounge. I will pay for his ticket if I need to. After I finished my coffee, I grabbed the letter and went up to my bedroom.

I went to the website and RSVP'd and then emailed them. I was so excited. I also emailed Cally to see if I could bring Mysta with me. She responded quite quickly, saying that of course, I could bring Mysta.

I was so happy and excited. All my hard work paid off. I got dressed in my cosy hoodie and sweatpants. Socks are for nerds.  I sat on my desk chair, looking at the letter over and over and over.

Mysta knocked on my door and then walked in. "Y/n, I'm going to go shopping, you coming with me?" I nodded. I was still elated by the news. "Throw on your shoes and socks then" He threw a plushy at my head. I caught it and smiled. "Okay!"

After I put on my socks and my Converse shoes, I waited for Mysta at the door. I was added to a group chat of writers in my group. I introduced myself first.

ME: Hello! I'm Y/n Rias, the author of "Kindly put your bow down" I can't wait to meet you all.
Ike: Hello, Y/n! My name is Ike Eveland, the author of "To be stuck in a Cycle" It's my pleasure to be talking with you :)
Kdawg: My name is Kenny Hales, the author of "Help me down" Excited to meet you guys and hopefully become friends!
Matty: I'm Matthew Casey, I'm the author of the series "My lover is my enemy"

Oh, there are only four of us? That will be great! A group of 4 of us will be great! Mysta coughed to get my attention. "Let's go, you dumbass" He ruffled my hair. I gave him a glare with a pout, fixed my hair and followed him out to the car park. The city centre was 20 minutes from our apartment block. We drove Mysta's electric car, he parked and put it on charge.

We went shopping for clothes since the climate in diamond city was going to be freezing. Well, I live in the UK, I'm used to it being cold. We knew the stage would be extremely heated for us, so Mysta made sure I had at least 1 t-shirt with me.

We got food as well. We were hungry.

I wouldn't stop talking about the writer's lounge. Mysta had to shove some of my food in my mouth to shut me up. Mysta started laughing. "I'm so sorry---- not" He continued to laugh. I just chewed and swallowed gracefully. we had a quiet moment where we finished our food and drinks. He looked at me. "I am proud of you for getting into The Writer's Lounge, Y/n, I will always be proud of you, no matter what happens" He gave me a gentle smile. I smiled back. "Thank you, big bro" It always filled me with something happy when he told me he was proud of me.

We grabbed our coats and bags and went back home in the car. We discussed the upcoming days. Mysta had work tonight, so I would be home alone. We walked into our apartment and relaxed on the sofa. "Mysta" He looked up at me. "You have work tonight. You need sleep." He shook his head. "I'll sleep in a minute." I knew what that meant. "I'll call Vox" I challenged him with a smile. He sighed. "Okay, go ahead" He smirked. I lunged for his phone and we got into a playful wrestling match. I won. I always did. I called Vox. "Hey, Voxxy!!" I spoke with a slightly cheery voice. "Hello, Y/n, what is a gentle soul like you doing calling me?" He asked.

"Mysta won't sleep and he has work tonight," I said, smiling and looking at Mysta. Mysta was shaking his head at me. "Oh really? Put me on the phone with him then" I giggled. "Here Mysta" I handed him the phone. I heard one side of the conversation.

"Hey man...... But I'm not tired..... Okay, try me! ...... Oh really?...... Okay, okay, come over and keep my company then... OK see you in 10 minutes" He hung up and gave me a sarcastic smile. "You win, Vox is coming over to make me sleep." I smiled with triumph. "Good!"

10 minutes later, Vox walked in. We permitted Vox to walk in whenever he wanted. Vox picked my older brother up and put him over his shoulder. "I'll get him to sleep, Y/n, don't worry." He gave me a cheeky grin. I nodded. "I'll be in my room, feel free to come up when your ready" Vox nodded and took Mysta to his room, despite him fighting it. I went to my room and started typing up the draft for the sequel to "Kindly put your bow down"

I titled it "Kindly put your sword in its sheath"

I wanted to be like Matthew and have a series. I wanted to call it "Kindly put your weapon away"

It was going to take me a while. I kept typing away at my computer. I had 4 chapters out of 10 done already. Maybe it wouldn't take me too long... Vox knocked gently. "Come in, Vox" I called out. He came in and sat down on the bean bag chair I had beside my desk. "So. You have something to tell me, little man" I looked at Vox, confused. "Who are you calling little man? Anyway. The only news I have is that I'm going to The Writers Lounge!" I acted nonchalant about it. "Yeah, you're only going to the biggest book convention as a guest and talking about your worldwide book, no big deal" Vox mocked me.

"Ha ha, Vox, your full of jokes. " I rolled my eyes playfully. He laughed at my sarcasm. "I'm happy for you though, don't forget me when you are famous" We both laughed. "I won't, I promise." He smiled at my promise. "I'll keep you to that."

We talked about anything and everything until it was time for Mysta to wake up for work. I made dinner for the three of us. Mysta and Vox gave me the third degree about the people I would be on stage with.

When you are the youngest out of all your friends and your brother, they are super protective. "Y/n, if you are going to hook up with someone, use protection" was one of the main things I was told.

I rolled my eyes. "Obviously, big bro" I smiled. "And it's not like I'm going to hook up with someone anyway, I'll be with you!" Mysta smiled. "Yeah, I know" He smiled at me.

I couldn't stop smiling, neither could Mysta. Vox was excited for us.

Eventually, Mysta went to work and Vox went home.

I pulled up the group chat again.

Me: Is anyone here on Discord?
Kdawg: Yep yep, here it is. (link to his profile)
Ike: I am! Let me just get my profile link :D
Matty: setting one up as we speak.
Me: (Link to my profile)

I quickly got 3 friend requests and I started a channel for us. "It's easier for me here" I typed. Ike agreed with me. Kenny and Matthew were still typing. I was making friends.

Kdawg: Let's do a work call at some point!
Ike: I would like that!
me: same
Matty: Sounds good, let's schedule a day!

So we did. Our work call would be at 10 pm on April 19th. I would be packing for The Writers Lounge around then. This will be fun.
