I fell asleep shortly after the plane took off. Halfway through the journey, I woke up. Mysta was asleep beside me. I looked to my right. The guy was playing on his switch. I grabbed my phone to see what time it was. I felt so disoriented.
I gently tapped the seat in front of the man sitting beside me to catch his attention.
"oh! Your awake, how did you sleep?" he asked. I blushed a bit. "I feel weird... Did I sleep on you by any chance? I'm sorry if I did!" the guy shook his head. "Don't worry, you didn't fall asleep on me!" he sounds like Ike, but I don't want to get my hopes up. "do you know how much longer is on the plane ride? Just out of curiosity" I suppressed my yawn. The man looked outside for a second, then at me. "I think there are 2 hours left in the journey" He smiled at me again.
"so, if you don't mind me asking, why are you going to Diamond city?" he asked. I hummed softly. "well, I'm going to a book convention. I'm super excited because I've been talking to these guys for a little while and they're going to be there. What about you?" I rambled a bit. The man gave me a gentle giggle. "Similar reasons"
Maybe He is Ike. Who knows, I'll see him at the terminal. "mmhm... Y/n, who are you talking to?" Mysta sounded tired. I looked at him. "Just talking to the guy beside me" "mk" he fell back asleep. I giggled. "That's my older brother. He's coming with me today, then his 'best friend' is flying out tomorrow" I looked at the man beside me. He had put his game away. I felt bad. "Sorry if I was disturbing you" The man shook his head. "No, my game system just died, it's okay. You aren't disturbing me!" he said with a cheerful voice.
We talked about the convention, what was happening, who we were most excited about, etc. He was really interesting and he reminded me of Ike. "I'm excited for the miku merch in the fanfiction section," he told me. This definitely sounds like Ike.
We ran out of conversation topics and just started playing games on our phones. The air hostess came around with the food cart. I paid for a drink for Mysta and myself, and the guy beside me got a drink for himself.
I looked at the sleeping Mysta. People often said we looked similar before I dyed my hair. Blue eyes, pale(r) complexion, dirty blonde hair. we both have a cockney accent, which gets worse when we are talking to other people with a cockney accent. I smiled when I looked at our tattoos. When we stand side by side, it makes a heart with our initials, which is supposed to be a sister thing but fuck gender norms.
I looked at my hands. I had my nails on the shorter side, but still long enough to scar someone if I needed to. I had my nails painted black and (f/c). Mysta has longer nails than me. His nails are also never painted, which is his choice. We were somewhat similar, even in clothing choices. I always looked up to my older brother. He was my inspiration for my book "kindly put your bow down"
When we were put on this timeline, we were separated. Mysta fought long and hard to find me. He even joined the police in their search parties. They found me being hassled by some guy. The cops arrested the guy for disturbance of the peace and Mysta and I hugged each other so tightly.
My book is about brothers who were separated in a camp. The little brother is a vulnerable teen, and the older brother is as tough as nails. The older brother fights with the soldiers in the camp to let him be with his brother, to the point that he was almost always kept behind. The little brother fought to be with his older brother, who could protect him from the world. In the end, it works out.
Mysta was described in my book, suddly. Nobody caught on.
I sighed quietly, just remembering that time when I didn't have my dear brother with me was scary. I shivered internally. I pulled out Ike's book from my bag and started re-reading it. I liked it. The page corners were worn slightly from how many times I've read it. Even before I wrote my book, I always enjoyed Eveland's book. I read it about 10 times already, but I love this book so much that what's the harm in reading it for the eleventh time?
"To be stuck in a cycle
is to be stuck with the definition of insanity
repeating everything, hoping silently for a different outcome
that's what it means
to be stuck in a cycle, according to Meena"
I have read that so many times when I feel like I'm stuck in a loop. I smiled when Meena had good moments and cringed at her bad moments. By the time I finished the book for the eleventh time, the plane was about to land. I put everything away and woke Mysta up. The guy beside me was putting his stuff away too.
the plane landed as smoothly as it could. We got off the plane, got our bags and waited at the terminal. Luca was there. Matty and Kenny were there too. They ran over and hugged me very tightly. I hugged them as well. Mysta was chatting with Luca while I got fully acquainted with Matty and Kenny. We waited for Ike to walk out.
I checked my messages.
Ike: Look up :)
I did. There he was. I dropped almost everything and ran over to him. We hugged. "I knew you were on my plane!!" I squealed. Ike giggled. "Hello to you too"
I looked over at Mysta and Luca, who looked like they saw a ghost. I looked at Ike. He had a similar reaction. "I know you two" He let go of me and went over to the boys. Luca and Mysta almost cried while hugging Ike. Was he from the past as well? oh. That's what he means by his parents can't be there.
I felt faint. I just hugged my favourite author. My world turned to darkness and I heard a lot of movement. I heard Mysta say "Vox was right. He did faint"
I felt myself being picked up, I'm assuming by Luca. When I regained consciousness, I saw Ike holding my arm. "Mysta, he's awake, can I have his water?" I looked at them. I must've worried Ike and Mysta when I fainted. "Do you remember what happened?" Ike asked me while handing me my water bottle.
"I... kind of... sorry if I worried you guys" I apologized and drank my water. "Y/n, do you faint often?" Matty asked me. I rubbed the back of my neck. "Only when I get overwhelmed. Doctors have said it's just a stress reaction, and that I shouldn't go to the hospital unless I hit my head" I felt bad. I hoped that it wouldn't happen. I looked over at Mysta, who just pouted at me. "I guess you can tell Vox that he was right" I gave a weak laugh.
Luca smiled. "Well, Shu is waiting for us at the hotel, maybe it would be good if you got some rest, especially after fainting as you did." He said. I agreed.
I think the excitement just got to me, which caused my body to just stop and made me faint.
