Chapter 6: Da 2nd D-Day

*CAPTAIN POV*

After the battle, no, more like....a one-side battle, a massacre, I still can't forget the scene where his soldiers got mowed down to pieces. The soldiers who have been training and befriend with me for years, are now laying at the ocean floor or got eaten by sea monsters. With only merely 8 ships left include my Corvertte, an empty dragon carrier, 3 Buza and 3 Drakka, heading to the capital of the Apprainia empire. About to face his majesty, I don't know what I'm going to report to him, he has invested a lot for this journey, this expedition and everything he receives is my failure, a shame for the first time in the empire history. I won't survive the king's wrath and probably my family too, but...they still have a chance to escape....it's just how....

*3RD POV*

With wounds all over his body, the captain kept on thinking for the safety of his family. The remaining of his crew, his friends are also not in a better condition than him, same with the other ships. The fleet is sailing slowly to the direction of the capital. Not too long after, they see the majestic capital at the horizon.

"So, we are finally here..."the captain mumbled

"I have to see my family and warn them first before I meet with the king"

When the fleet reached the dock, there's already a carriage with the royal insigma waiting to pick him up as soon as the news of the returning of the fleet, the captain hesitatingly stepped into it and the carriage immediately rushed through the crowded street straight to the royal castle direction, leaving behind the crew with the sorrow look on their face, some even have PTSD. Seeing the condition of the their expedition force, the civilians around the dock can't help but shock.

"For the sake of the gods, what've happened to them?!" A civilian commented in disbelief

"I...don't...know. Since the news of monsters appeared on that island, I thought our force could take care of them. Now look at them! How devastating! It must be something big! Gods....may their souls rest in peace!" Another one commented

The news instead of giving shame, it stroke fear throughout the whole population of the capital and soon spread out to the whole region and others kingdoms later.

Back to the carriage, there's 2 people, sitting opposite each other with tense atmosphere surround them. There's a long silence along the way but one of them finally decided to break that silence.

"I can't believe his majesty would assign you as the captain of that fleet. Now looking at the result, I don't know what he would do to you or your family....Especially, your lovely demi-human whore...HAHAHA!" the person in fancy clothes spoke with a smirk

The captain sat on the other seat, clenched his fist with anger. He tried to calm down but couldn't. And then, things lost out of control, he shouted right up in the face of that person.

"YOU.SHUT.THE.FUCK.UP! DON'T YOU DARE FUCKING PULL MY FAMILY INTO THIS, EDGAR!" he yelled furiously

"Oh ho ho.....oh Ryan....shouting at people is not good, my friend....especially the higher-ups like me. Where are your manner?" Edgar replied mockingly
