As Robert continued to grapple with his feelings, his mind wandered back to the early days of their friendship, when everything had begun. It was the day of Robert's audition for the role of Edward Cullen in the first Twilight movie, a day that would forever change the course of their lives.
Kristen, only 17 at the time, was already cast as the female lead, Bella Swan. Robert, 21 years old, was eager to prove himself and secure the life-changing role. The moment they met, there was an undeniable chemistry between them. As they read lines together, their connection grew stronger, and it was clear to everyone in the room that something special was unfolding.
After the audition, director Catherine Hardwicke pulled Robert aside. She could see the budding attraction between him and Kristen, and she knew the importance of maintaining a professional environment on set.
"Catherine, I know what you're going to say," Robert began, already aware of the unspoken concern.
"I need you to promise me something, Robert," Catherine said, her tone serious. "I need you to swear on this Bible that you won't date Kristen until she's 18. We can't have any complications on set."
Robert hesitated for a moment, his heart torn between his growing feelings for Kristen and the need to be professional. He knew that he couldn't risk jeopardizing the film or his relationship with the young actress.
"I swear," he said solemnly, placing his hand on the Bible.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Kristen and Robert grew closer on set. Their friendship blossomed, and their feelings for each other continued to deepen. But they both knew that they couldn't act on those feelings, not yet. Robert had made a promise, and he intended to keep it.
In the meantime, they focused on their work and their friendship, always aware of the lingering promise of "someday." But as the years passed and their careers took them on different paths, the promise began to fade from their minds, replaced by the realities of life and the challenges of growing fame.
It was only now, as Robert found himself at a crossroads in his life, that the memory of the promise came flooding back. And with it came the realization that, despite the passage of time, his feelings for Kristen had never truly disappeared. He couldn't help but wonder if she felt the same way, and whether their shared past still held the key to their future happiness.
