Chapter 13- Thanos

Third Person POV

Gale was in the lab with Tony and Bruce, watching them make the gauntlet that was in Endgame. Gale sighs as she continues to draw. "Okay kid. That's like the 30th sigh within the last 5 minutes. What's up?" Tony questions as he sets a tool down. Gale glances up from her drawing and watches Tony.

She sighs again and leans back from the table, placing her pencil down. She rubs her hands over her face. "Nothing. Well something. I don't know. It's just, something that Strange said to me. Something about fate always finding a way. And I just get this gut feeling. Like everything is just too easy. Way too easy. It isn't supposed to be this easy. I just have this odd feeling that something is going to go wrong. I don't know what."

She sighs as she runs a hand through her hair. "I've been trying to figure out scenarios that might happen. But I don't know the future. So I have no clue. I just wish I knew what will happen next. But with me here, changing everything, I don't know what will happen. I know I have given warnings about what to do in case we do have to do the time heist." She groans and Tony sighs. "Kid, even if Thanos does snap or whatever, you have given us so much time to plan ahead that it will only be like a few days that everyone will be gone."

Gale leans back in her chair, staring at the ceiling. "I know. But I don't want innocents to die in the process." She mumbles out and closes her eyes. "We got this kid. Let others handle the burden as well." Gale smiles and opens her eyes, smiling at Tony. "Thanks Tony."

Steve, Nat, Clint and Bruce went to Vormir and they said that the soul stone is still there. But as the days went by leading up to taking the mind stone from Vision, Gale couldn't help but feel something was off. She didn't know what, but it was something. So she made a visit to Strange and talked with him. And he told her that he will be where he will be needed. Always the cryptic.

It was the day of getting Vision's mind stone. And since everyone was coming with, she made sure as hell to bring the stone's with her.

T'Challa gave everyone rooms to stay in. Shuri was positive it wouldn't take too much time, but that he would need to recover in Wakanda, and everyone want to stay near. Everyone was hanging out in a living room type area, just waiting around for the surgery thing to be complete. Gale couldn't help but stare out the window.

A hand landed on her fidgety hand and she jumped. She looked over and Bucky was sitting next to her smiling. "Oh hey Buck. Sorry, I can't stop fidgeting. Like something is going to go wrong. I can sense it." She glances outside again, looking for anything out of place.

"It's okay Gale. I know your nervous, but your nervousness is making everyone else nervous." Gale glances around and notices everyone was in some form, fidgeting as well. Wanda stayed with Vision, but Clint and Nat were pacing like they were expecting a baby or something. Gale smiled to herself at the thought. "Sorry. I just can't help it."

An hour later, and Shuri came in with the mind stone in a clear glass bottle with a smile. "It's done."

Gale stands, smiling, as does the rest of the team. But her smile fades as the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. Her eyes widen as she runs to the window and looks into the sky. "Fuck...." Gale breathes out and everyone comes to the window as well.

Thanos' ship is looming in the sky. And just like the movie Infinity War, smaller ships start crashing into the earth. "I knew it was too easy. He was waiting till we had all the stones. But guess he got impatient." Gale mumbles out. She turns and notices everyone looking at her. She gulps harshly and nods to herself, trying to gain her bearings.

"We still don't have the time stone here. Strange said he will be where he is needed. He will show up. We just need to stall them. Let's go. We need to split up the stones for now." She waves her hand, and 3 stones appear floating in her hand. With her other, she makes 3 glass bottles appear. Placing them inside and corking them. "Thor, the space stone. Steve, the power stone. Quill, the reality stone." Shuri hands Gale the mind stone. "I'll hang onto the mind stone. No matter what, he cannot get all the stones. He must have got the soul stone between 3 days ago and now. If worst comes to worse, and the time heist happens, make sure to go back in time to then. He had to do something to get it. Find out. But until strange gets here." She looks at Bruce and smiles. "Lets smash them." He smirks at her and nods.
