Two twins sat down under a tree that had two diffrent colored apples one begin golden and bright while other dark and so called evil. One usually wore purple and golden themed outfit and for their twin brother, they wore cyan and golden colors both begin total opposites of one another but still both got along well for five years until some villagers started coming around making the two's bond slowly get less and less strong.
One that used to be bright and happy all the time now wears a mask of smiley face lying about never getting tierd of working nonstop while the other one was always hiding his scars the village gave him yet both still remained together best they could. Today begin similar to ones they now face daily. Both peacefully sitting under a tree one reading a book while other rested his head on the others looking at the book themselves too before speaking silently: "Nighty?.." his voice was hesitant but yet he wore a fake smile that was all Nightmare needed to be fooled once again as he dipped his head and looked at Dream his purple eye lights looking at Dream with confusion and worry as he asked: "what's wrong?"
Dream frowned but still spoke: "can you... promise me something?" Dream looked away feeling guilty
Nightmare stared at the other a small smile forming on his face before speaking: "what is the promise about this time Dreamy?"
Dream stayed silent gazing at the green grass below him as he spoke: "promise me that no matter what you won't leave me... and, never..." Dream teared up but held the tears back going on with the talk: "never hate me okay? If... I ever hurt you please... don't hate me, I'll change if I will have to but..." Dream was embraced into hug by his own twin making Dream stop in mid sentence and stare at Nightmare in shock.
Nightmare started speaking:
"look, we may have been not in best sibling stuff but I promise I'll never leave nor hate you... remember as long as the cape is with you I'm there too..." Dream teared up and hugged back muttering a soft thank you.

...

Little did they know... it was a fake promise...
