Years after the original Squad, in a different home from the squad house, Sunshine is on the phone with Alex, just talking about life
Sunshine: Look. It was a good idea on paper.
Alex: Was it though?
Sunshine: Yeah!
Alex: Sunny. It was fun, but the school said some weird stuff about it
Sunshine: Blame the school for making Deadpool and Spider-Man together weird I guess. It's not like they knew it was us!
Alex: The dance moves didn't help
Ok maybe they weren't talking about life exactly, but it is life to them. That's when she got a knock on her door
Sunshine: Come in!
Outside of her door was her parents, holding a huge chocolate cake
Spark and Ella: Happy birthday!!!
Sunshine: It's my birthday?
Alex: I literally said happy birthday when I first called!!
Sunshine: I'll call you back, ok?
Alex: Got it. Tell me if you get anything good
Sunshine: Bye
They hang up
Ella: You actually forgot?
Sunshine: Too busy thinking about all the plans I have this week. This week I'll be thinking about how I fail to make plans
Spark: Well we may have something to fill up your schedule of nothing
He hands her a small box, usually one that may hold a necklace. Inside was a key. A completely regular key. No lasers, no cool color, no metal from another dimension, just a plain old key
Sunshine: Uhh... thanks? Kinda a strange gift
Ella: Read the note!
A little note was with the box. It read 'We've been able to make our lives incredible with that old Squad House. Maybe it'll help your life too.'
She needs a few seconds to process
Sunshine: Old squad... help my life too... is... is this the key to the Squad house?!
Ella: We thought maybe you would enjoy making your own group. You do talk about the old days alot
Sunshine: I do, but I can't even successfully maintain a ukulele without help. What makes you think I could handle the squad house?!
Spark: I had no idea how to take care of an actual infant, you're still here today!
Sunshine: That's different! You're a genius!
She realizes that she said that, and has a form on her desk saying she was skipping a grade due to her intelligence, and 3 report cards with distinguished honors in every quarter. So she flipped them over in attempt to not ruin her point
Sunshine: Ignore that
Ella sat next to her daughter on the bed as the cake was placed onto the desk
Ella: Honey, we wouldn't give you this if we didn't believe in you 100%!! You're too hard on yourself and we know you'll do great. If things just don't work out, we can fix everything. You don't have to make the choice now, but we'll help you get all situated
Spark: Plus all house costs paid off for the first year. You know, just so that's one last thing to worry about
Sunshine: I'll think about it
Ella: We'll leave you alone for a bit if you want to think about it
Sunshine: I'll come out to properly celebrate my birthday soon
They both left, accidently leaving the cake
Sunshine: If only they also forgot to leave a knife
Well they did leave a plate. She thought she should call Alex back.
Alex: Hey, get anything good?
Sunshine: I guess. I'm not sure if it's any good but I did get cake
Alex: Please tell me your not going to cut with your sword
She definitely did not slowly put a sword back down
Sunshine: Whaaaaat? Of course not! It would ruin the blade! *nervus laugh* Wanna go to the skatepark later?
Alex: Sure
Sunshine: I got an upgrade a while ago and I've been wanting to try them out
She tried to look for them under her bed but found something else. It was an old framed photo. Around 15 years ago, during her Uncle and Aunt's wedding when they got a huge group photo of the squad
Sunshine: Actually.... If I were to rebuild the squad, how'd you feel?
Alex: Are you kidding?! That'd be awesome!!
Sunshine: Let's keep the skatepark plans, but tomorrow, we're moving!!
