Chapter 5: Scientific Emotions

Just another regular day for most, but an important day for katie! After lots of reverse engineering, she has figured out how to take the mysterious item she acquired on the first day, and use its components to make a portal to another dimension. Today is the day she will activate it! A new era of science will emerge due to her brilliance! But then she remembered. She lived in a building with what she called 'annoyances.' If it weren't for her parents wanting her out of the house, and the technology that helped her with her breakthrough, she would have never stayed longer than a millisecond

Going downstairs just to get a banana and leave, she found everyone at the table, being annoying as usual

Sunshine: Why are you putting honey on your pancakes?

Mia: I like honey

Sunshine: But I thought you were vegan? Isn't honey production hurting bees?

Mia: Bees can move their hive whenever they want and will move miles a day. They stay with the bee keeper or farmer, I'm not sure what the right term is but they stay with them because they are doing a great job. So, honey is actually helping bees! And it's probably one of the only animal products that involves consent from both parties

Sunshine: Still, it's bee vomit

Mia: You're drinking what is basically baby formula for calves. In the grand scheme of things I don't think what I'm eating is wrong as it does not harm bees, but that's only my opinion

She continues to enjoy her breakfast, while Sunny looks at her cup. She's not sure if she wants to continue drinking it. Even if it is chocolaty

Tyler: I just got us tickets to the fair in a few months! Who's in?

Alex: Sounds fun

Cole: Sure. Thank you

Mia: I can't wait!

Sunny stays silent

Alex: Sunny... you there?

She doesn't take her eyes off her cup

Sunshine: I don't think I wanna drink chocolate milk anymore...

Alex: Congrats Mia, you broke Sunny

Mia: Mi dispiace

Tyler: More for us then!

He grabbed the cup, but tripod on somthinf on the floor, splashing the cup onto Katie's clothes

Tyler: Og my god I'm so sorry!

He tried to grab a towel, but  she slams her hands on the table, stunning him a little

Katie: What is wrong with you all! Can't you be normal?

There's a moment of silence, until she pointed at Mia

Katie: You act like a complete child

Then at Tyler

Katie: You can't ever be quiet and are a constant annoyance and thorn in my side

Then Sunshine

Katie: You constantly make jokes

Then Cole

Katie: You're always quiet

And finally Alex

Katie: And you... Actually you are normal

Alex: Thanks...?

Sunshine: You're not exactly normal either. I'd consider pointing out everyone's fault a pretty trash move

Katie: I am simply pointing out the facts.

Sunshine: Here's a fact for you. You gotta stop getting mad at us for no reason! The heck did Cole, or Mia even do?! I'll admit Ty and I have done some annoying stuff, but your rage is being targeted at innocents here!
