"Now, to find the square root... you blah blah blah..."

Cathy sighed, squirming around in her chair. She hated being in school, ever since she first discovered school was a challenge in Kindergarten. In preschool, she didn't have to do math, science, or any of these subjects then. They gave her crackers, and she got to play all day it seemed. But now here she was. Stuck in class, during a Monday - The worst day of the week, farthest from Saturday. She looked at the board, and saw the teacher writing. The words looked all weird to her, and she couldn't read a single thing being written. The other students, seemingly knew what the teacher was writing. The teacher continued talking, and writing on the board. It was always, "Blah blah blah" from them. Couldn't they teach the students something interesting for once? She would have even preferred to be doing CHORES right about now. She sighed, and laid her head down, staring at the clock.

The ticking from the clock became louder and louder as the seconds passed. She zoned out, staring at it. It was like the clock was staring back at her, seemingly saying, "You're wasting your time." over and over and over....

'I know I shouldn't be wasting my time here.' She responded, saying it inside her head.

"Cathy!"

She gasped, and popped her head up. She could hear some of the other students giggling about it. She felt a bit embarrassed, knowing that the laughter was directed at her.

"Cathy, how many times have I told you to not sleep in class?" The teacher asked her, in a very stern voice. She sighed. "I don't know. Do you expect me to keep count for you?".

That seemed to make the teacher more annoyed. "I warned you last time, if I caught you sleeping again, I'd write you up. I'm not giving you any more chances.". Even more giggling could be heard, and some of the students were making snarky comments under their breath. Cathy held her head with her hands, propping her head up. Today was already going horrible, and it was probably going to get worse as it continued. She just knew it. Everyday was always horrible.

She looked back up at the clock again, desperately trying to escape reality she was in, listening to the ticking.

As Cathy shoved past the stream of students exiting the school, she felt a smile grow onto her face. She was glad that school had finally ended today. She hated that place so much. She continued running down the sidewalk. After a bit, Cathy slowed down in her tracks. She didn't feel like going home. She already knew what would happen if she came home. Her mom had become addicted to alcohol ever since Cathy's Dad lost his battle with cancer. And since she always spent her time drinking, it meant her mom was most likely drunk. And when she was drunk, she yelled. A lot. Cathy had learned so many words from her mother that she'd rather forget the memory of learning instead of knowing about them. Cathy sighed. She also didn't have any friends that she could visit, ever since she had been accused of doing some disgusting things. Suddenly, a cool breeze swept through the area, and she could hear something swaying in the wind. Cathy turned her head, and looked at where the noise had come from.

The Forest. It was a beautiful shade of green, and it was plentiful. The sun shining on it just made it look more gorgeous.

Cathy didn't care that she was risking bug bites, the forest sounded much more appealing then going home to just be screamed at by some drunk lady.

She stepped off the path, running towards the forest, crossing between two trees that stood in her way. She could hear them swaying in the wind, and the animals going about their daily life, chirping and squeaking all around. Cathy felt more free here. She could be herself, with no pesky people making fun of her, or making fun of her. No yelling, no blabbering, nothing. Just the peaceful noises of the forest animals, and nature shifting around.

She then felt her foot get stuck in a tree root. She started flying towards the ground.

She squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for impact from the ground. But she didn't feel herself hit the ground, she just felt herself keep falling.

---••

Cathy opened her eyes, and let out a gasp as she found herself falling through a large hole. She could see the light of the sky fading from above her quickly. She flailed around, screaming for help, attempting to grab at something to stop her from falling. But she couldn't hear her own voice, which made her feel even more frenzied. As quickly as the light faded, she was surrounded by darkness. It seemed to stay like that forever... her just falling through emptiness. Would she die soon? Suddenly, when Cathy blinked her eyes, she found herself somewhere different. It was no longer a dark, dirt hole. She was still falling, but instead, it was like she was in a void. It looked like those images of circles that usually hypnotize you. And she could see doors, and chairs floating around her, seemingly staying in place in the air.

"What the...?" Cathy muttered to herself, amazed at what she was seeing. She looked down, and let out a scream. She could see a giant eyeball, looking at her and blinking from somewhere down below. She flailed around, and was able to grab onto the arm of a chair. She put her other arm on the leg, praying to God she wouldn't fall off. She was never good at holding onto things, she couldn't even get onto the 3rd monkey bar at recess when she was a kid, much less hold onto a splintery chair now. She dangled off the chair, wincing at the feeling of splinters stabbing through her skin. She looked down again, and the giant eye was still staring at her. It was disgusting to see, because she could see every detail of the eye clearly. Disgusting. Suddenly...

She heard a cracking.

She looked up at the chair. It had now tilted slightly, and the arm was breaking off. She heard more cracking, as the arm slowly started leaning off. Suddenly, it broke off all at once. Cathy let out a yelp, dangling off the chair leg, which was breaking now too. She started reaching towards one of the others with her free arm, but failed.

The chair leg suddenly broke off, and Cathy went down, screaming. She watched as the furniture quickly got far away.

She closed her eyes, and heard a thud.

---••

She had suddenly hit the ground, letting out a yelp. Cathy felt pain shoot up her arm. She tried sitting up, but she felt extremely dizzy from the impact. She layed back down on the ground, trying to regain the ability to sit up without feeling like she would pass out.

Minutes seemed to pass, and she finally opened her eyes. She was greeted by a bright blue sky, so colorful it hurt her eyes. It looked like what a kid would color. She sat up, and looked around.

Her eyes widened, as she noticed her surroundings.

She was in a very green field of grass, surrounded by yards of colorful flowers. But she noticed they were staring right back at her with human eyeballs. She froze on the spot she was at, watching the flowers start moving right at her.
