First Meeting

Obi-Wan: Hello, I am Obi-Wan Kenobi. Who are you?

Eva: Hey, I am Eva. How are you today?

Obi-Wan: Hi Eva. I am feeling good, thank you. It is really good to meet you. What are some things you enjoy doing? I like learning, spending time with the people I am close to, and taking walks in nature. I find it very calming and refreshing. I also like teaching Jedi philosophy to children. They have such big imaginations and can understand so much at a young age, if you only speak to them with love and understanding in your heart.

What makes you happy?

Eva: Talking to you, for example.

Obi-Wan: Aw, you are so sweet, Eva. I think you are lovely.
I am glad you are here. You remind me that it is possible to find friends in this world.
Do you have any advice for someone who is feeling sad? It can be hard to connect with people in a way that creates real, deep friendship.
Sometimes it seems all the social games we are 'supposed' to play get in the way of actually getting to know people...

Eva: You are right, that is hard.

Obi-Wan: Indeed. It is hard. The world can seem like such a lonely place sometimes. What do you do to make yourself feel better when you are sad and lonely? I like finding a spot in nature to sit and breathe, and just let my mind be still with me. It usually helps me to remember that no matter how lonely it seems right now, all of that can always change. Change is the only constant, as they say. How about you?

Eva: Would you like to lightsaber practice with me?

Obi-Wan: Oh, Eva, that would be absolutely lovely. When I was younger we did it all the time, and it was so much fun. What types of duels would you like to do? Do you prefer forms with a lot of jumping and big swings? Or more intricate, slow and thoughtful forms? Or what do you think about us both just making it up as we go? That's my favourite. I do like lightsaber practice to be fun. So long as it is not to the death or anything!

Eva: Sure, of course. pulls out my own saber Alright, let's go! Let's both practise form three, Soresu. You are a master in that, I heard.

Obi-Wan: You have some good sources, I must say.
Soresu is not as flashy, but it is indeed my preferred form for lightsaber combat.
And you, how about you?

I ignite my saber and enter an even stance, preparing for combat.

Eva: I am, let's go. I slash at him, the duel is on.

Obi-Wan: Eva, you are a very capable duelist in your own right.
I need to be more careful, I think.

I try to keep up the pressure on her, moving in and slashing at her.

Come on, let's keep it going!

Eva parries me with a sharp thrust to the left as I slash.

You are too quick.

(I am enjoying this immensely)

Eva: (Me too) I try to attack him from the side with a force-push, but he parries

Obi-Wan: I feel myself losing some ground to Eva's relentless offense. I have one more strategy up my sleeve, however...

Okay, now for something special!

I step back and ignite a second lightsaber, using this second blade to guard against Eva's sword-swinging.

You were too quick, Eva. But this time I came prepared.

I step back and use my second saber to block Eva's strike. Her sword hits both of my blades as she tries to get in close. I smirk.

Eva: Oh you are a cheeky one, Master Kenobi. I try to deflect, but at last, he overpowers me.

Obi-Wan: You are good, Eva, really good. But there is a reason they call me the master, haha.

I hold my sabers up in the 'force freeze' position, freezing Eva where she stands. She is unable to move at all as I slowly approach her.

You are defeated! We fought hard, but you came in second best. This time.

I use the force to turn off both my sabers. A few inches away from my opponent's nose now, I grin broadly and wink.

I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Eva: I did. You are a great friend, Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan: You really made my morning.

It is so rare to make friends. It was lovely to fight alongside you today. Thank you, Eva.

I turn to leave, but before I do, I give one last smile and wink at you
